Holiday Bowl

After this weekend, it looks like the best we can do is make it to the Holiday Bowl. If we beat USC, the Trojans will probably fall from the #1 or #2 BCS spot and head to Tempe for the Fiesta Bowl for a rematch with Notre Dame. You know that's what the Fiesta Bowl execs are begging for. That leaves the Holiday Bowl with Oregon and UCLA, and I'm hoping the Holiday Bowl folks pick UCLA. If not, then off to El Paso we go. If we lose to USC, then the Trojans will win their third straight national title. The Rose Bowl will just be a crowning ceremony for the Trojans. You know it. I know it. Texas fans seem to think otherwise. But so did Oklahoma fans last year. We all know how that turned out. Let's cross our fingers that Oregon gets the at-large nod to play in the Fiesta, which would leave the Holiday Bowl for UCLA.

Better start writing letters to the Holiday Bowl, Bruins. Tell them how much UCLA deserves to be playing in San Diego this year. If we get lucky, the Bruins get to play a bowl game in America's Finest City. If not, we'll be playing our bowl game a stone throw away from the border.
