Let's not get ahead of ourselves

UCLA is now 3-0 on the season.  The Bruins have defeated San Diego State, an opponent UCLA has never lost to, Rice, a program that looks like a high school team, and a depleted yet still decent OU.

This is obviously a positive start to the season.  We should be feeling great about our team right now.  Yet some UCLA fans are acting as if we have just won the national title.  There's still a long season ahead of us.  We have won three games against two mediocre teams and one very average team.  I think OU may still end up with a winning record.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

The game against OU is proof that UCLA is at least decent this season and better than last year's team.  The Bruins from a year ago would have folded in this game today.  Drew Olson especially looks improved out there.

But this game does not take Karl Dorrell off the hook.  Some fans seem to think that Karl has vindicated himself with the win over OU.  One game cannot do that.  The Bruins have to keep playing well for the rest of this season.  He needs 9 regular season wins.  With the talent on this UCLA team, that may not be hard to come by.  I think it can be done.  Take it one game at a time.

Nevertheless, I am feeling positive about UCLA football for the first time in a long time.  Keep it up.  Go Bruins!
