Have We Seen the Last of Maurice Drew?

Looks like it. According to Joe Schadd at ESPN, Maurice will announce at a Saturday news conference that he will be entering the NFL draft.

Best of luck to Maurice.

MJD
Not at all a good decision.

Good luck
If he's a first day selection, then it's not that bad of a decision, though as a fan, it's a disappointment.

Markey and Bell showed that they are ready for more carries against Northwestern.  In a perfect world, MJD would come back, but with Ben Olson, the receiver corps almost entirely back (less Marcedes), I think the offense will still be in good shape next year.

It's a gamble
And I hope it pays off for him. It's always nice to see UCLA players succeed on the pro level. Look for the Panthers' D. Foster and R. Manning rip the Giants apart this weekend.

MJD 2
It's always nice to see UCLA players succeed at the college level too.

Succeeding
Is there anyway for someone to build a time machine and go back in time to pick up past Bruins who were All-Americans and assembled them under one roster with Red Sanders as head coach and Gary Beban as quarterback. That would be one hell of a team.

Wish MJD nothing but luck
He will always be one of the Great Bruins in my book. I just wish he had a good head coach while his time at UCLA, so that he could have experienced the feeling of beating USC. MJD's career reminds me a little of the careers of Baron Davis, Watson, Barnes, Gadzuric, Kapono et al., all the talented athletes who had good years, but could have been greats, had they gotten some real coaching during their times in Westwood. Again best of luck to MJD. I am going to root hard for him.

School
I would imagine that his late grandfather would have wanted him to stay in school to finish his senior year and earn a degree.

Not the best idea...
as I don't think he's ready yet.  Then again, who am I to say that he shouldn't help himself and his family out with a nice NFL contract.

Either way, I'll support his decision.  Maybe he'll become the next Dante Hall....

Too many RBs
The guy from Minnesota, Reggie Bush, Lendale White...

I just don't see him as a first rounder because of his size. I wish him the best, so that my sundays are filled with highlight relays of him with defender after defender behind his back.
