I think we're going to win!

I think we're going to upset Notre Dame.  Dorrell is going to cut the B.S., show some toughness, fire up the team, and it's going to be the difference.  We're going to pass at the right times and our backs are going to contribute and have big games as well as our defense.  What does everyone think?

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

That makes a lot of sense
Although I'd be surprised... I'm sure that Dorrell knows that in order to keep his job, he's going to need to cut the crap and overrides svoboda's play-calls every single frickin' play if need be.  I'm sure that before, he was willing to allow mistakes as a sort of investment or something stupid like that, but I doubt he'll care about letting svoboda "learn" with his job on the line, and in Notre Dame.  I think it comes down to how selfish KD can be forced to be.  He seems to have the talent, but limits himself for unknown reasons.  If we can piss him off enough to get him riled up and yelling, I wouldn't be surprised by a win.  Problem is... that seems like an impossible task.

I hope so.
I hope you're right.

I mean if you think about, the Bruins have nothing to lose in this game. No one expects the Bruins to win. No one expects the Bruins offense to score or the defense to stop Quinn and Co. Some doubt we'll even end up 6-6 this year. The Bruins have nothing to lose in this game, KD should come out swinging, open up the playbook and let our guys loose on the field and let them play football and play to win.

However...
The lie about Cowan coughing up blood makes me wonder... What if Dorrell has been lying about disagreeing with Svoboda's play-calling?  Perhaps he's shielding himself by keeping the OC as a skapegoat?

you're giving him
too much credit. I don't think KD's that smart.

This Should Be Our Best Performance Of The Season
I'm sure some of our players were recruited based on playing Notre Dame. (Or at least it played a factor. ) It shouldn't be hard to get fired up Dorrell or no Dorrell. I expect our team to raise it's game to meet the challenge. Hopefully they can muster a win or moral victory that will fuel better performances in the future. I'd feel more than comfortable if Cowan audibled every call in the game. It looked like his best strength last week.

A moral victory
if you are going to celebrate or look for a moral victory, please do it somewhere else.

Not here.

WTF
is a moral victory anyway?  Isn't that just a PC way of saying, "LOSER?"

Even Lavin.....
....would pull a nice win out of his ass once in a while.

He needs 9 wins, including SC, to stop the hailstrom of criticism.

That...
...is some good crack you're smoking.  Where can I get some?

Just trying to be positive
I realize after the Oregon game that this diary post seems far-fetched.  I was livid after the first half and the last 4 minutes of that game, but I still think we have a talented team and a good defense.  If Dorrell can break his "Dorrellian" behavior and show some toughness and guts, then we can do it.

I am with you
nothing wrong with being positive.

I will root for UCLA no matter what.

9-3 is just about out of reach
How about 8-4 and a scrappy loss against SC? What bowl game would that get the team?

by cv on Oct 20, 2006 11:33 AM PDT reply actions

Screw that
I will be all righ with 9-4 and may be 8-5, but absolutely no way a "scrappy loss" to Southern Cal will be acceptable.  I don't think a 9-4 record or an 8-5 record (with loss to Southern Cal) will get Dorrell fired (probably even a 7 win season will not get him fired) but that doesn't mean he failed to meet the standards that so many of us set here before the season.

More like 7-5
and an appearance in the inaugural KFC Chicken-Sh*t Bowl in Louisville Kentucky on December 9th.

THIS IS WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT
Dorrell and Svobada are letting these kids play and are showing some major sack right now.  Dorrell has made the adjustments and Pat Cowan and the defense are REALLY proving themselves.  Our Bruins win this game and I don't care who is coach, we migh beat the Irish!!!  Go Bruins! Keep it up, I love it.

It's not over yet, but we're looking good, especially because you know the Irish EXPECT to win today.  Keep passing!!
