Howland The Football Recruiter?

Looks like Coach Howland's recruiting for our Bruins isn't just restricted to the hardwood. Look at what the father of Brian Price (our five-star stud)had to say about going to the game on Saturday:

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

and of course it's nice to go to a school...
with a winning Basketball team to root for when you aren't playing football.  Howland has cemented himself in such a short time, it is scary.  I can't say enough (good) about what he has done for this program.  And he hasn't even brought us the banner we spoiled fans demand!  Good to hear.  Hopfully some of him will rub off on the Fball team.

Howland Really Is the Best Thing to Happen to UCLA
Howland has turned around the program that I love.  I also am a Gaucho, but I am happy that Ben moved on to greater duties and has turned around the program that I love.  If he can help get us our best football recruit, then he does even more than I possibly expect.

Do Copyrights Really Hold Water On The Net?
I know many, many people who havn't paid for a movie or music album since around '96. Especially since they use BN to "Scout" topics we're interested in.

Well
I expect the authorities and courts to be more active in coming years to enforce existing laws re. copyright.  We need to do everything we can to make sure that we are going by the rules. At least here on BN.

I respect your desire to legitimize BN
Nestor,
I agree that if BN is going to get bigger, it has to  be respectful to the Bruins news outlets.

As for the courts shutting down internet file sharing, that'll never happen. Pandora's box has been opened since 1995 and I, for one, will never buy a music CD ever again. I'd like to spit on any record company executive who tries to tell me otherwise. Movies I can take it or leave it, sometimes it's more fun to see a movie in the theater. But when it comes to music, there's such severe manipulation by these bloated, rich-kid run, record labels that I'd actually enjoy seeing them lose Daddy's business. Business models change all the time. They're crying to the government when their business is famously corrupt and greedy.

As for the news outlets. I worry about the future of sportspages as we've known them. The time has come where the newspaper is now the slowest form of mass news.

The L.A. Times sports page has been reduced to it's columnists and it's a shame because I only find Simers entertaining. Plaschke knows less about sports in general than we do. Adande lives in spins-ville where facts are subjective to his reality and we get enough of that b.s. in the Front Page. I miss Jim Murray, Alan Malamud and Tim Brown writting pulitzer quality columns. Oddly enough the Times has fallen like the 49ers.

Record companies
Another thing to remember about these record companies is they lost a huge court case that proved that the big five record companies, along with Tower, Wherehouse, and Sam Goody, spent YEARS conspiring to artificially inflate the price of CD's.

When I was a teenager, these crooks routinely charged $18.99 for a new CD.  The artist was LUCKY to MAYBE see $2.00 of that.  More often it was about a dollar.
