What is he thinking?
After 4 years Karl Dorrell should know that he can't coach, he just isn't qualified. Here is anology that best describes Karl: It's like Karl being accepted into Harvard, after receiving his GED, just because one of his parents was an alumni and polled some favors; and even though there were more deserving students that were qualified for his spot.
Now on his Midterms his grades are always D's and the occasional C's, but on his final exam, which we all know is the most important test of the year, he flunks it miserably 3 years in a row. His Professor is Pete Carroll. Professor Carroll laughs at little Karl always telling him "you don't belong here, you shouldn't even show up because I know you aren't prepared, and can't compete in my class", and you what Professor Carroll is always right.
Now here is the kicker when Karl fails his midterms or the Final, and we all know he does or will; he comes back with that delusional look on his face, talks about how he got a question right here and there and how he will do better next time.
In 4 years people receive bachelors degrees; in 3 years people can obtain law degrees, and business school can be accomplished in 2 years. When we all started UCLA we all had to have time to accumulate to our new surroundings, and by the time we became seniors we knew the system in and out. We learned through experience and expanded our horizons. We figured out what can work and what can't; when to study and when to lounge around, every year would become better students.
Now student Karl as a senior is flunking his classes, and looks like he might fail his final again. But if he fails he will state "well...last year Professor Carroll give me an F because I seemed to be in the wrong class, but this year I studied real hard, I had a chance to pass his class but my tutors didn't help prepare me, at least I didn't get a F again!!! Just until next year and I will show you what I can do".
I have had friends that didn't belong in college because they weren't prepared , and you know what, they left because they weren't cut out for it, Karl should state after this season, the same thing Michigan State's Head Coach John L. Smith did, I am resigning!
