Around SBN: Dana White Announces Koscheck vs. Hendricks for UFC on FOX

Like Koach, like player...

Don't know if anyone has posted this but I thought this was an interesting read.  It's from Brian Dohn about the football players post-game feelings.  Looks like a team of Karl Dorrell's with all the crap coming out of their mouths.  Some excerpts:

  • "You'd always like to win a game. You never like to lose it, but this just adds more fuel to our fire," UCLA quarterback Patrick Cowan said.
  • "We need to take this momentum, whatever you can find from it, and ride it into next season, and more importantly, ride it into spring ball," UCLA junior fullback Michael Pitre said.
  • "Playing a team like (Florida State) is really going to get us ready for next year," Bruins junior defensive tackle Kevin Brown said. "We know who we have coming back. We know what we have to do to reach our goals. We beat 'SC. We know we can do that, so we know we have a lot of potential coming back next year."
If there's one thing that Dorrell is good at in terms of coaching, it's probably brainwashing.  They all have the right attitude, but they need a real coach who can show them what to do with it.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

dorrell teams are really good at realizing what
their goals are. they seem to realize what their goals are AFTER each game they play.

they're also great at learning new ways to motivate themselves to reach those goals by getting obliterated almost every week and taking something from those losses!

hey, but we beat sc this year. yeah, after sc lost their bowl game to texas last year i'm sure i heard a multitude of their players saying, "Hey but we beat a ucla team that was 9-1 at the time we played them this year! that makes the texas loss meaningless, right? :)!"

I never thought of it
that way, excellent point of view BB98.  $C views the Bruins as somewhat irrelevant, basically another team on the sched, but the bruin FB program is irrelevant enough that they define their season (and Dorrell's job) on this game.
Great insight BB98.
Just a point, we need to cheer for U Michigan tomorrow to return the favor from 12/2 (however selfish UM's motivation, they were still behind the Bruins) and when $C loses this game it will be three losses inside a calender year for those scumbags at the Rose Bowl. (it ain't much but it is something to needle $C fans with, along with 13-9).  Further shut up those bandwagon jumper morons.

Yeah
Saw it. I was too disgusted by those quotes to even dignify them on home page.

Thanks so much for having the stomach to point these out.

Those sounds like quotes from players in Lavin coached team.

Stockholm Syndrome?
We may be witnessing another example of the impact of the Stockholm Syndrome -- the syndrome in which hostages bond with their captors and echo their rhetoric.

For those old enought to remember, Patty Hearst's "conversion" to the goals and actions of her kidnappers -- the SLA -- may be the best example of the syndrome in action.

No, our players were not kidnapped by the coach BUT they have gone through a stressful season and have probably felt under attack from the public. Also, by all accounts, KD is a very good guy -- if not a great coach -- and I am sure the players feel that they are in the trenches with him.

It's funny that the exact same thing is going on with the Raiders -- the team we hope will honor our coach by making him the next Oakland head coach.

In yesterday's Santa Rosa Press Democrat, Raider players are noted to be taking a very strong stand in favor of Art Shell, their head coach, who is under attack from the Raider Nation.

I can understand our players saying what they are saying. And, in fact, their loyalty to their coach is understandable.

It's not their job to stimulate the AD to make a necessary change, it's ours.

Earl Watson
A great UCLA basketball player was the biggest defender of Steve Lavin. I don't give much weight when I hear how much players support a coach.

Whatever.

Brady Quinn loved Willingham. Now he loves Weiss.

So you are dead on 66.
