Around SBN: New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Ring Unveiled

After another depressing Letter of Intent day...

From the diaries. Wow I am on the road and now just finding out about the classless moves by Cable and Embree. So much about KD's horseshit nonsense about "winning the right way." Beyond pathetic and to think that we have spring practice soon. - N

where FUCK SC increased the talent gap between us and them and Dorrell apologists were trying to spin this class into a great one...  even saying that they would take our #20 class over FUCK SC's #1...  who knew that the very next day would bring me joy.

The departure of Tom Cable will be a blessing to this program.

His game planning and play calling over the last two years has been horrible.

If you don't agree look at our 1st quarter scoring.  Look at our 2nd quarter scoring.  Look at our 3rd quarter scoring.

We never generated offense until we dumped his original game plan because of large deficets.

But what bothers me the most about this departure and Embree's is the sleazy deceptive manner in which it was done.  After the letters of intent were signed.

Believe me, these departures have been in the works for a while.  Rumors started circulating a couple of weeks ago.  Cable's deal was done days ago.

Sleazy.

It takes something like this to remind me why I liked Eric Bienemy so much, the guy is genuine.  He doesn't bullshit you.  He tells it like it is.

There is a reason why kids like EB so much, it is because they know he isn't going to bullshit them and that he really cares about them. They can tell that he isn't just about using them like FUCK SC's Pom Pom

Funny, when he decided to goto the NFL, he didn't hide his departure until after signing day to deceive some kids.  He announced it and moved on.

Anyway, a Svoboda promotion wouldn't be a bad thing.  His offenses in D-2 were unpredictable and explosive.  He is a be proponant of self scouting to keep teams guessing.

I'll come up with a couple of names for OL coach later in the day.  There are a couple in the Pac-10 that I wouldn't mind poaching.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

SC's #1 recruting ranking!
I'm actually surprised we made the top 25 in the recruting rankings with SC in our backyard.

LOL
yeah ... someone has high standards. We made the top-25! Yeah baby!

Svoboda to OC
Did he run the "Denver Bronco-Dorrell-WCO" that Dorrell claimed that he couldn't run in year 1 because Axman was not on the same page?

I like Svoboda to OC. His numbers in D2 were good. I just hope Dorrell doesn't revert to Stretch R-Stretch L-PA-Punt.

Here we go again...

Yes ...lol
thats what Tracy Pierson posted over at BRO. Accepting Tracy's explanations on what is going on with this fucked up football program is like believing in this guy:

Of course if Pom Pom pulled this stunt those idiots on BRO would be deriding Pom Pom for being classless (which he is any event). This makes us no different from Pom Pom, the difference being Pom Pom wins games and we are cool with getting our ass kicked all over the field and appparently on the recruiting trail as well.

I read the article
Can you point us to the language that convinced you that Cable had no knowledge of a potential move to the ATL?

by Ajax on Feb 3, 2006 10:48 AM PST up reply actions

I can point to language that
he did have that knowledge.  And not of just a "potential" move, but of a near certain move.  In the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this appears: Cable's deal with the Falcons apparently had been agreed upon for a few days but Cable did not officially accept the job until Thursday  Cable (and likely Dorrell) knew he was gone, but held off making it official, so as not to disrupt recruiting.

So let's see
You say:
In my opinion, Cable was an average OC and a slightly above average OL coach. His playcalling was predictable and the line never dominated so that we could run the ball down a team's throat. This could be the best thing to happen to UCLA football, yet all you do is focus on the negaitve.
So KD's first three big coordinator hires - Axeman, Kerr, and now Cable (according to you) were all either terrible or average. And yet question why we are so down on Dorrell? lol

You are changing the subject
I really didn't give a shit if Cable left. He could be replaced. It was the way he left that was the issue.

The whole point of the story was that Cable and Dorell knew before signing day that Cable was gone. Yet, Dorrell comes out Wednesday and lies by saying the whole transaction took place withing a matter of hours.

One of the qualities that Dorrell allegedly looks for in a recruit is that he "wants to be a Bruin." In other words, it makes no difference who the coaches are, it's about those 4 letters.

So why the duplicity if the kids want to be Bruins?

Also to note
Brian Schneider (former safties coach) is moving to take over the TE coaching duties. Possibly in preparation for new DC Walker to take over the DBs? Dunno...

I know what the party line is...
but, to be honest, this has been in the works for a while.

He interviewed weeks ago... as did Embree... as did Bienemy...

Did Embree just get his offer as well?

Frankly, it looks like they are "gettin' while the gettin' is good" so that tells me that we should get ready for some leaner times.

Look, I am happy for them but did the kids that signed with them, in part because of them" know about them possibly leaving.  A kid that signs with a school because of a position coach alone needs some mental help but it does contribute to the decision.

Bottomline is that insiders KNEW WEEKS AGO that several coaches were leaving.  It wasn't speculation, it was stated as fact.
