Women's NCAA Tourney First Round - West Lafayette, IN

From the diaries. Don't forget our Lady Bruins. GO BRUINS -N

I'm a member of the band with the Women's team during the NCAA tourney, and I got a few pictures.

About the actual game, our women played pretty well, there was a short defensive lapse in the 2nd half where Bowling Green got within single digits, but Lisa Willis rained down 4 threes and the Falcons just couldn't keep up. I love watching our women's team play, except sometimes there are a few reckless moments when they're trying to be too fancy, but it's fun to watch their up-tempo game (not to rip on our men's style of play though).

The band actually got to stay with the team in the same hotel as well as fly on the same chartered flight, and it's great to see the players outside of the games. Since we were here already on saturday, we actually had to find a sports bar to watch the men's game (The Gonzaga vs. Indiana game was on locally). When Arron Afflalo hit that three late in the 2nd half, we all went nuts, and all the locals looked at us funny. Of course we did an Eight-Clap when we won.

More pics later after we play Purdue. What the heck is up with their home-court advantage though?? And don't say no one shows up to women's games because we were at the purdue vs. Missouri St. and the place had a pretty large amount of fans

Ditto that ....
this is truely awesome. We would love to see more of these types of posts from our band members - who are at least in book so much better than those piece of shit skirt wearing tools from South Central. GO BRUINS.

THANKS!
As someone with a 9 year old daughter that aspires to someday play for UCLA, I really appreciate this diary and will share it with her.

GO BRUINS!

any time Paul
Just don't let her see what I write on Lavin! That content is Rated-R (and Lavo deserves it).

Wonderful post ...
Let me echo what Ajax, Nestor, and Paul have already said. Great post.  I would love to see more posts like these ones from our band members here on BN. Its a great way to keep a displaced Bruin alum in the East Coast connected and give us a little slice of California and Westwood. Thanks again for this post. Go Bruins.

Missed Last 12 Shots and Blew It
How do you miss the last 12 shots in a NCAA tournament game . . . the Lady Bruins still had a 53-29 lead with under 3 minutes left and completely fell apart.  I guess its time to focus our attention where it should be, yeah?  BEAT THE 'ZAGS!

oh
wait, you meant 53-49.  I thought they really had a 53-29 lead and somehow lost in the final 3 minutes.  Still disappointing, but not as horrible as I thought :P
