offense?

i have a couple questions,

#1 why run a prostyle offense when we dont have the "architect" (Dorrell) calling the plays?

#2  why do we rotate sooo many receivers?  isnt it hard in a offense based on timing to get it when you have 8 or 9 different players running those routes?  plus how can you convince a recruit you'll get playing time when you have to share it with that many other players.

#3  why didnt we put BO in shotgun so he can better read these blitzes, help blocking, and read the underneath routes?

#4   why dont we have any balls?  running on 3rd and goal from the 10 only makes sense if we're going to go for it on fourth down.  this is where the "were trying to catch the defense offguard" arguement makes any sense

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

never thought of that
we do rotate our receivers a lot. you're right. that's a lot of rotating for a group that never seems to be part of the game plan since it's never thrown their way. i don't think dorrell will ever go for it on 4th down. earlier in the game with a chance to steal momentum and only six inches for a 1st down, dorrell punted it. sure ball was on our own 37 but SIX INCHES with a chance to reverse momentum. weis does it a ND all the time. so does carroll. i'm sure dorrell might go for it once in his career and expect that to change his reputation.

If we had gone for it
Husky stadium would've totally been silenced.  That would've been a great power-play.  But no.  We were better off being pussies and submitting to them even before we lost.  It's all about our mentality.  If we had been sending off a vibe of domination, then that sort of thing would have been simple.  The problem is that even while we were ahead KD was giving the vibe of the loser who got lucky and is uncomfortable with a lead that he doesn't feel like he deserves.  That is the advantage that a powerhouse team gets from shoving the ball down a losing teams throat and kick them while they're down.  As much as I hate it when $UC and Texas do it.. it has its merits.  We need to start playing like winners, not confused losers.

Yep
We have no swagger, and no confidence.  In fact, we haven't had swagger for years now.  Matter of fact,   I was just watching the 2001 $C game and the whole team just looks depressed.  Obviously there was a lot of stuff swirling around the program at the time, but the only guy who even looked like he wanted to play was Robert Thomas.  I saw the same looks on Saturday after the first touchdown going into the locker room.  It's been the same goddamn  depressed "just get us out of here" look for years now and I'm sick of it.
