galen center is architectural failure according to the times

the calendar section of the l.a. times today had an architecural review on the galen center dismissing it as step back to the 40's, and not in a good way. it says the outside of the building is cartoonish and that the building is 3 different styles meshed into one. it does say the inside is better designed than the embarrassing outside but that the greatest thing about the inside, the view of downtown l.a., is hidden during day games because the curtains are pulled down to eliminate the glare from the sun. at night, when the curtains aren't pulled down, the view of the l.a. skyline isn't as spectacular. it does say the facility will probably help recruiting though, but we already knew that. it's nice to know that the architects messed up so maybe recruiting won't be helped as much by it. at the least we know they built a cartoonish looking arena and that's the description straight out of the l.a. times.

i love how we can't rely on our team to get high hopes for an upcoming football season but we have to rely on our schedule. is that the best we can hope for from dorrell? no, we can't even hope for that because i believe we are gonna suck next year.

by saying we get our tough games at home next year so we should win them is making excuses for losing to the tough teams we played last year on the road. same goes for suc. suc plays their tougher games next year on the road but if they are truly as good as everyone says their gonna be then that won't matter, they'll still win. what matter is the team and how good they are, not excuses of where the games are played.

besides even though stanford and wsu will suck next year, we have never performed well playing on the road in their respective venues. in our 10-2 season we needed miracle comebacks to win at stanford and at washington st. and both those teams sucked that year. that was also our 10-2 year, which people are hoping for next year, so who's to say we're gonna waltz into stanford and wsu and win? we're losing to one of those teams.

i forget if we play utah or byu on the road but whoever it is we're losing to them too. we'll lose to cal who has their entire offense returning and we'll lose to suc. oregon's a toss up but we'll probably lose. at arizona? loss! asu with corrupt erickson at coach will be better next year becuase he is a good coach. toss up but a very likely loss. not only did washington beat us last year but at the rose bowl 2 years ago in the year where they won only 1 or 2 games and we won 10 they almost beat us. we had mjd too. oh yeah, notre dame. they're overrated every year and will have a new 5 star freshman qb, but that's a loss. why? oh my god, they'll actually play their 5 star qb and if he gets hurt, he'll play again when he is healthy. olson didn't even get a sniff of the field in the final 2 games when he was fully healthy and he was probably healthy for a game or 2 before that. dorrell has completely botched the qb situation already, the most important position. next year does not look good in my eyes.
