If KD wins the Pac-10

I find it silly that people are saying this season won't be a disaster IF Dorrell wins the Pac-10.  It ain't gonna happen.  Period.  Waste of time.  There's a better chance of Nestor becoming an 'SC fan than KD winning the Pac-10.

The only thing I find interesting is the similarities between Lavin's final season and KD's final season (this season).
1) Both had embarrassing losses to pathetic out of conference opponents.
Lavin: Branch West, EA Sports, San Diego and Northern Arizona.
     Dorrell: Utah, Notre Dame
2) Both started out strong in Pac-10 play.
Lavin: Started 2-0 after beating the two pathetic Washington teams.
Dorrell: Started 3-0 after beating three of the four worst Pac-10 teams.
3) Supporters of both of these idiots then claimed that things weren't too bad because "we can still win the Pac-10" and are "still in first place in the Pac-10.  So be positive!"  Then they accuse others (those that can see past the end of their nose) that they are just "haters" and should stop being fans if they can't enjoy a win.

Now, we all know what happened to Lavin, as he followed up this 2-0 "success" in the Pac-10 with a dismal 3-13 run.  And that sounds about right for the rest of KD's farewell tour, also.  I expect 2-4, maybe even 1-5.  Let's face it, with this broken offense we have little hope against the big boys in the conference (CAL, UO, SUC, ASU).  Add in the fact that we suck on the road, and I see about 1 win.

So, I find it humourous that we are going through the exact same discussion (different sport) that we had less than 5 years ago: it's all very Lavinian.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

I believe in Lavo's final season we beat Arizona in the Pac-10 tournament in a classic Lavin fashion and then went on to lose to Oregon.

I will not be surprised one bit if Dorrell pulls off one or two more big wins (just by sheer miracle of his players at some "magical level") by beating perhaps an overconfident Cal or may be a disinterested SuC squad who could be stumbling in that last game of the season with 3-4 losses with a some trip to Sun Bowl at stake.

Yeah, but would KD
chime in like Lavin did to choose his own successor?

Karma
Logic says UCLA should win maybe one or two more games this season.  Logic also says UCLA should not have lost to either Utah or ND, Furd should have gotten killed by $c, Colorado would not have a chance against Oklahoma and on and on.

Similar to Lavin's improbable win over #1 Stanford at Maples, I am willing to guess that the Bruins will win a couple of games no one expects (hopefully Cal and $c).  But, no matter how many games the Bruins win, not even running the table the rest of the season makes up for the disasters against Utah and ND.

If, despite all evidence to the contrary, the bruins win the Pac-10, Dorrell must go.

Come on guys
Why all the negative thoughts about our upcoming season? The first game of the season is at Cal. We're still undefeated according to the the thinker!

oh, PLEASE!!!!!!!
Who we gonna beat if we can't move the chains on DAME?!?!??! WAKE UP!!! Tedford will SMASH us. Belotti will SMOKE us. Erickson may SHOCK us and STOOPS just LOVES us!!!

That yields 7-5 + Toilet Bowl... AT BEST.

Deal with it.

GO BRUIN BLUE.

I disagree, Logan
I don't think we get three more wins.  Where are we getting those three?  I think CTS will indeed run the table, but not the way wants it run.

I don't think CTS gets any more wins in his UCLA career.

totally plausible
...but I fear Dorrell's lucky pendant has a bit more gleam than that. Revising to 6-6 at BEST with what's left of this clown. The pain! The Pain! Like euthanizing a loved one.
GO BRUIN BLUE.

If we win the Pac-10
It should be even more obvious that KD needs to be fired. Because that would mean that he cost us a shot at the national championship by his inept coaching against Utah and Notre Dame.
