VS Curse

Ranked teams on VS

Has anyone else noticed the "VS Curse"? Pac 10 ranked teams are not having any luck on the network. The Utah debacle (not to mention the near BYU debacle), USC getting exposed for the overrated mess they are last week against Stanford and now Oregon St knocking Cal from a #1 ranking. What is going on?

Maybe we can lobby for the rest of our games (where we will probably be underdogs with KD at the helm) to be moved there.

Only six games left until the ax falls!!!

Ms. M and I were discussing this last night.

As if Pac-10 fans didn't have another reason to be irritated with Tom Hansen...

What's worse -- being a BCS conference where our No. 3 Games of the Week are shown on an obscure channel right after the Weekly Deer Hunting Report...

... or having our top-ranked teams LOSE on that channel week in and week out?

Geez.

SI and VS

Put DUH-rell's picture on the cover of SI and do a mini-series on his life on VS. That should get him gone.

Cal was on VS!!!!

Man, I looked through over 300 channels for that game, but forgot to check the rest. Anyone know what channel number it is on DirecTV?

I think it is cahnnel 603. Direct also offers Versus HD.

Follow up Comment on Direct TV

If you are current customer of Directv and want to upgrade your service, don't talk with their regular customer service folks. Ask to speak to the "Win Back" department. If you threaten to go to cable or Dish, they will start offerring the world to keep you as a customer. My HD Reciever/DVR cold not get the new HD stations Directv has been adding. They have changed their technology from MPEG2 to MPEG4. I wanted the additional HD channels, such as Versus HD and the Fox regional Sports (so far they have not added Fox Sports West in HD), but that required new equipment plus a service call that Directv wanted to charge for. After telling the customer service rep I was going to see what offerrs I could get from cable, he transfered me to the "win back" department. I got them to come out an install a new dish (old dish could not handle the new HD offerrings), a new HD DVR, and I had them add another hook-up, all for no charge. I just had to continue my contract for two years.
