Kahlil Bell Out For The Season

Bumped from the diaries. We wish Kahlil a full recovery. Hopefully he will get to shine under a new coach. The question I have which I posted in the comment thread why did Dorrell and his staff send Kahlil back in the game after he got hurt the first time? GO BRUINS. -N

Perelman cites ESPN in reporting that Bell's knee injury suffered on Saturday will keep him out for the remainder of the season. Not reported on ESPN.com yet, or any other site I have found as of this moment.

"ESPN posted on its bottom-of-the-screen crawl that Bruin running back Khalil Bell's knee injury will keep him out for the remainder of the season." Considering how well Bell has played this season - along with Breazell, the only real playmaker on the offense - the ineffectiveness of Markey to date, and the need for improvement in Ramirez and Moline, the running game that has been the one reasonably consistent part of the offense has now taken a big step back (if the report is true).

Also watch out for this being cited as yet another excuse from the dorrellistas over the next few weeks, as without Bell, I don't see much production coming out of this offense.

UPDATE: Dohn now reporting that Bell tore his ACL, confirming Perelman's report that Bell is done for the season.

"The results of an MRI show that UCLA running back Kahlil Bell has a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He injured the knee in the first quarter of last Saturday's game at Washington State. Surgery will be scheduled after the swelling in his knee subsides. Obviously, he is done for the season, and likely will not be ready for spring practice.
