So I know most of you want Dorrell gone. So do I. And after reading so many posts on BRO, Bruins Nation, and DumpDorrell it seems like the main reason is because he is not leading our team to perform to its potential. Okay, that's fine. I have no argument against that statement. However, in some of the posts I have read it also seemed like many wanted to fire him because he was not winning enough. Some of those people even said things like winning was the only thing that mattered and that a coach's job security depends on their win-loss record . My only response to that is then why is winning an issue when we beat up on teams like Stanford, Washington, and Oregon State? If winning is the only thing that matters to you then what difference does it make if we play like sh*t and still win?
Obviously, I do not believe that winning is the only thing that matters. Do not confuse winning with excellence. Would you marvel at an undefeated men's basketball team playing in a women's league? (no offense ladies) Of course not. But perhaps a better question is would you still want Dorrell as head coach if we had 3 consecutive 10-2 seasons no matter how awful those wins were? (Pretend we somehow continued the trend of come from behind wins during the 2005 season) Now, I'm not here to argue the likely hood of that happening or how unrealistic that situation may be. I simply want to know I'm curious as to how many of you are hypocrites. Fire away with your thoughts!
