Mayo killing It!

Everybody's favorite program of degenerates and criminals is off to an auspicious start.  The USC basketball team, with Juice Deuce, lost on the road to the powerhouse that is Mercer.  In what looks to be a pattern this year, OJ Mayo had 32 points (game high) but his team lost 96-81.

There is no "I" in team; and there ain't no "OJ" either.  Mayo will likely be the leading scorer every night for Southern Cal as he focuses on being a high draft pick in next year's draft.  Who cares about how the team does if you average over 30 a night?  All that matters is that Killer 2 got his!

Well, just goes to show Timmeh that if you recruit players from diploma mills and players who care more about personal stats than wins, this is what you get.

Nice work Timmeh!  Nice work Killa!

Fight on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks USC sucks

Loving it
This is awesome -- Michigan State, Kentucky, and Southern Cal. lose to mid majors or worse in their openers. God bless Ben Howland.

Too good to be true
You've gotta be kidding me:
"Mayo wore No. 32 in tribute to his favorite childhood player Magic Johnson; it's also the number O.J. Simpson wore as a Heisman Trophy-winning running back for the Trojans."

USC combined for...
9 TOTAL Assists.  Juice Deuce had 8 turnovers, all by himself.

Also, I saw someone at the Rose Bowl today wearing an OJ Simpson USC football jersey.

lol yeah...
we yelled double murder at him and yet he was proud to be wearing it

I saw that dude at the ND game
I personally told him what and idiot he was.

I don't get these morons...
who come to the ROSE BOWL wearing USC shite.  Its especially dumb founding on days when SC is playing just a couple miles away.  These people deserve what ever rebuke they get.

The gap closers
What is that sound I hear? The gap between the basketball programs of UCLA and FUSC getting bigger and wider

Pink Floyd....
0-3 in home openers.  Just sayin'

First let me say, in my defense...
the only reason I went trolling in CC was to look for the Cal score.

While over there I noticed that there were only 2 posts for their basketball open game thread which I found amusing. I was curious to see what the only two posters had to say but found that it was actually just one poster who wrote two posts. Yeah, a real hoops school. Anyway, this was one of his two posts:

"Hate to say this
OJ Mayo did one thing that really ticked me off.

After the buzzer sounded and the game was lost, instead of shaking hands with the Mercer squad, he turned his back on them and walked straight into the locker room.  I just thought that it was not showing good sportsmanship after a loss.  The rest of the team took part in the post game handshakes, he could have too."

Real classy guy.

Nice
I think he is showing that he is a "one and done" player.  He's gone after this year and he's just killing time.

I hope they lose every game, but there is no excuse for being a poor sport.  Let's hope that his coaches drill some respect into him.

My prediction already proved to be wrong
I was sure OJ2 would punch someone out and get kicked off the team, or would "innocently" be in the car as one of his friends' friends (who he hardly knows) scored some dope.  Well, he apparently did slug one of his teammates in the mouth, but that's nothing to the thugs over there.

So I'll go to position number two.  He'll get suspended at least once this season.

But anyway, a well-coached game from Timmeh according to what I read.

SC recruits guys with glass jaws
whether getting knocked out for not paying a bet after losing a video game or getting clipped for not  paying a thug enough "respect" on the pickup court, SC sure does have a lot of guys with weak jaws!

I guess
They don't all hold up so well these days without the attention of Dr. Ting.

Loose Cannons - Love v. Mayo
Love: the consummate team player; puts up big numbers while playing (selflessly) inside the system. a force inside that also distributes the ball well.

Mayo: A great talent, but his style of play to date indicates that OJ2 is treating his time at sc simply as a year-long audition for the NBA, with floyd's acquesance. OJ2's play is undermining the defensive focus of last year's team, and not raising the level  of play of his teammates.

No surprises here
I mean, the Ben Howland era is built around team play. Helping each other defensively, spreading the ball around on offense, setting screens for your teammates. The Timmeh philosophy on the other hand rewards selfishness and showboating. We attract players who genuinely like their teammates and play selflessly, and SUC attracts players that punch each other in the jaw. I can only hope we learn something for our football search that we DO NOT want a reject moral sellout like Timmeh on our sidelines.

by Tydides on Nov 12, 2007 1:33 PM PST up reply actions

OJ2 is showing Timmeh for what he really is
And what he is is not a very good coach.  The entire world knew that OJ2 would treat each game as his own personal shoot-around.  Why would Timmeh want to have a guy with no concept of team play on his team?  Doesn't Timmeh think that the trOJan fans are going to look at the won-lost record, or does he think they'll be content as long as OJ2 gets his points.

Wait until a little adversity hits.  Then the OJ2 cancer will metastisize.

(The concept of some mayo and a worn out trOJan is not something that can be ignored forever.)

Um
I'm glad I ate before I had to visualize that one.
