To the Lizard of Westwood: Take THAT
Maybe in about 3-4 years we can expect the same lines from MJD, the other Davis, or other guys who wasted their careers going coachless during last 4+ years at Spaulding. GO BRUINS.-N
It's always nice to remember those who came before us.
From Jerry Crowe's column in today's LAT:
"As reported by Bay Area blogger Geoff Lepper of the Contra Costa Times, former UCLA point guard Baron Davis looked into the rafters at Pauley Pavilion last Friday during the Golden State Warriors' morning shoot-around and said, "We should have a banner up there: the only team to make the tournament without a coach." . . .
Somewhere, surely, Steve Lavin's ears were burning."
Tell me that Baron Davis is not your very favorite NBA player right this second. Go on, just tell me he's not.
GO BRUINS.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Hello Bruce Davis
I HEART BARON!

Wait a minute.
It led me to believe that Davis doesn't know the difference between good and bad coaching, which means he's probably never had good coaching. Only Mickey Mouse-level coaching.

Bruce is probably
I'm sure his first few practices will be real eye-openers.

Actually I read it like:
-- a way to call your uncle an asshole without "calling" your uncle an asshole... no?

News for ESPN apologists

Conspiracy theorist?
I just hope some day current batch of UCLA players will speak out the truth on Dorrell.
This is so refreshing to see an athlete speaking so honestly and poignantly. I am so proud of Baron.

ESPN = ACC
Baron is the man. I hope he never leaves Golden State.

ESPN = Eastcoast Sports Network.
What about single handedly resurrecting the MLB from the depths of near-extinction with non-stop coverage of "Dinger Central" from '98 - '02 while simultaneously ignoring the swollen biceps, triceps and deltoids of the meat-heads out there hitting them... it's obvious.

When 1 + 1 does not = 2...
There is no reason that anyone who knows anything about basketball should believe that Steve Lavin was a good or legitimate coach. To me he will always be a "coach"... always in quotation marks with a strong hint of sarcasm because he was only technically the coach.
In the same way that is takes more than getting someone pregnant to make you a real dad, it also takes more than being paid by Peter Dalis to make you a real coach.

Huge Doors fan
I think we can go with "Lizard King" for Mr. Mojo Risin and just plain "Lizard" for Lavinoma.

If everyone is to be believed, then
It must have been my imagination that I was ganged upon when I spoke ill of the "fine young coach" beginning about the 2nd year of his tenure.

He's just being nice to a stranger
I knew Sean in college, and trust me, he wasn't exactly a fan back then. He used to regale us with stories about 2 hour lay-up lines that constituted "practice".

Had a chance meeting
As I was leaving, I asked him about Kevin Love, and he had nothing but glowing responses. He said he thinks we should win it all this year. My reply was that we had the right man in charge (which was intended as a slight against the football coach), to which he responded "Absolutely. You have no idea." I now take that as a dig at CHP or whatever Fox calls him.
He has told a mutual friend on a number of occasions that he left early due in large part to the fact that he felt he wasn't getting any better. What a shame.

Speaking of Lavin...
Should be a VERY interesting game on Monday.

Note to ESPN
I wouldn't let that charlatan onto the campus, let alone into the building he disgraced. DG, how about telling ESPN to replace CHP or none of them will be given any credentials.
We hold all the cards this year. I think we can tell the smaller guys how things are going to be. And I would tell them that CHP isn't.
