Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Vegas Baby

We are going to the Vegas Bowl on December 22nd for a rematch with BYU. From Perleman's blog:

UCLA will play BYU in the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl, a rematch of UCLA's second game of the season, in which the Bruins held off a late Cougar charge to win, 27-17.

No official announcement has been made on the status of head coach Karl Dorrell, but all signs point to his dismissal early this week and negotiations are ongoing with at least three current or former collegiate head coaches.

About finances, credible sources (who spoke on the condition they not be idenfied) indicated that ample support to hire a coach at market rates was available. Stay tuned.

That is all.

Bronco
What would happen if Bronco were to get the HC job? That would be awkward, to say the least.

The pre-season seems a million years ago, when we seriously thought our team would be ready to play and ready to compete for the Rose Bowl. Those glowing camp previews, the pre-season top 10 rankings, all of it gone to yet another .500 season and a loss to USC.

A money saver too
He flies in on their charter and out on ours...thusly saving the hardworking taxpayers of California 50% on his airfare. Perfect.

Ed Kezirian was Head Coach back in Dec 2002
The last time we won the Vegas Bowl was when Toledo was fired and Ed Kezirian took over as Head Coach.  How appropriate again for this year.  Karl Dorrell will get fired on Monday, Ed Kezirian will be named interim Head Coach, and he will beat BYU and go 2-0 as the winningest Head Football Coach in UCLA history!

Yippie...
Oh boy, Dullard's best team ever with a 500 record!!!  I can't wait to see Kezirian go 2-0 in the Vegas Bowl!!!  Vegas has to love us, we have such awesome teams visit them.

Oh, come on, Rand
The presence of our game in Vegas will probably mean an incremental two or three dozen people from Southern California who wouldn't be going over there anyway that weekend.

Don't forget to stop at the Mad Greek's in Baker.  They make a VERY good gyro.

Wow...
Could you please shut up with all of your negativity?  If you really hate our team's record so much, and think it will be a boring game, then just don't go or watch.  What exactly makes you a Bruin fan, anyway?  The fact that you hate the coach, or the fact that you think our team is boring?

I'm sorry you weren't around for the good years
I am confident that I have been following the Bruins for a lot longer than you.  I remember the good days.  I remember when the entire season was pointed to the big game with justsc, with the Rose Bowl almost always on the line.  I remember approaching every single one of those games with a honest feeling that we had a shot a winning.  We didn't always win, and sometimes we looked bad in losing.  But the students and fans always had a reason to hope.

Do you not realize that hope was missing from our football program under the former head coach?  Are you so tied to that failed experiment that you refuse to look at the future and the hope that is being restored?  It seems to me that the Stockholm Syndrome is alive and well in some parts of the realm of the Bruins.

But trust me, Chelly, you will like winning and hope and fun and excitement much more than what you experienced in the past five years.

If BYU leads in the game
will there be chants for Bronco to be the next head coach?
