Changing the O

We all know the offense is in for an overhaul when the new coach is hired. A potential limiting factor in what offense is installed is the type of players we currently have on the roster. Personally, I'd love to see a modern spread put in so we can put points on the board like a real offense. Unfortunately we are stacked with fullbacks and tight ends. By my count 11 or 12 players would either have to change positions or transfer out. At FB we have Pitre coming back from a medical, Theriot with a season of starts, Rush learning a new spot and an incoming recruit. At TE we are over the top with 8 guys. Moya off the injury, Paulsen the starter, Heater, Rauscher, Holland, Martin, Glicksberg and the prodigy Chandler.  Add to the mix Moline since he doesn't figure to be a spread tailback. That's a huge number of guys stranded if you go spread. Some of them could change positions (Theriot, Rush, Chandler, maybe Heater) but the rest of them look like they'd be transfers. I'm sure DG is aware of the numbers. It's got to affect the hiring decision. If  an interviewee evens hints spread he's coming off the list. Sadly, I don't see spread in our future.
