Better Candidates Needed!

As a lifelong Bruin fan, football fanatic and privy to college football information, I find D. Guerrero's management style frustrating in regards to the football program.  Granted the injuries were tough especially at QB, but none of these guys in the QB position are poised/talented enough to take the Bruins to the top of the PAC 10 much less the BCS National Championship!  He hit "a grand slam" with B. Howland but is about to make another mistake with the (3) candidates on the hotlist.  Walker's a nice coordinator, but offensively  was disastrous in LV.  I was embarrassed by the gameplan (given the talent at QB).  OK 1st offensive drive due to 1st turnover and good last drive due to a botched blitz by BYU def coordinator.  Neuheisel is too smart to recruit legally by constantly pushing and bending the rules due to his legal training.  He'll have the NCAA camped out in Westwood in 3-4 years. Don't bother with Golden!
A great candidate who submitted his resume to UCLA and didn't even get a "thanks for your interest" letter is Dan Mullin, Off Coordinator at Florida.  He has coached Alex Smith, Heisman finalist/1st pick in NFL draft and took Utah to heights never experienced by that program.  They played in the BCS Fiesta Bowl then and now played in the Poinsettia Bowl?  He coached Chris Leak, an underachieving "phenom" who floundered under Zook and only led his team to a National Championship after 2 yrs under Mullin.  Enter Tim Tebow!  Mullin recruited him and then broke down his mechanics and coached him to 20/20, a stat never achieved in college football.  Mullin can recruit, coach and gameplan.  UCLA deserves the best and staying within the program backfired with Dorrell.  Guerrero should follow his basketball hiring and look to the East and bring Mullin to the PAC 10 to work the spread.  Guerrero should at least acknowledge Mullin and send a thank you note.  Business 101 - Never burn a bridge because you never know when your paths will cross.

PS:  Texas A&M could have had Urban Meyer but A&M told him they wanted someone with more experience.  They got Franccione, poor performances, frustrated alumni, an embarrassing email incident and millions of dollars to get rid of him.  With little experience, Meyer's won at Utah/Florida, graduated players and I almost forot - won a National Championship!

Good Luck DG!
