Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

Bruins Nation. Congratulations.

We have been waiting and fighting for nearly four years now. Urging on our fellow bruins to see kd for who he really is - a nincompoop of a coach.

Serious HT to Nestor & other Trojan killing Greek generals & kings, 66, Fox, Bruincore, and the entirety of the Bruins Nation that have been fighting for what everyone else is finally only beginning to see. I've been trying to convince everyone I meet that Karl Dorrell, head coach, is the antithesis of the very essence of UCLA. And now there is no more convincing to be done. Some very promising news from the fishwrap.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HARD WORK.
Now all that's left is to pick up a real coach.
This news really takes any of the sting away from this weekend. completely.

You beat me to it!
I just want to say,"Ding Dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead. Ding Dong the witch is dead, the witch is dead."

Now that we've accomplished our first and most important goal, it's time to shift gears and let the administration know What we want and who we want.

I for one will write emails to all the usual suspects listing the follow preferences:

  1. Paul Johnson, Navy
  2. Chris Petersen, Boise State
  3. Bronco Mendehall, BYU
  4. David Cutliffe, Tennessee
I've heard the rumors about Mike Leach and I don't have a problem with him. I also don't have a problem with Leach and Walker as DC. I'm one of those that believe that the best defense is a good offense. With Leach at the helm, Walker doesn't have to win the games for us or shut down every oponent. All he has to do is what he has already done, make our defense a respectable unit that plays hard.

Johnson to GTech
I read somewhere that Georgia Tech (and Duke, but who want that) is very interested in Paul Johnson. I haven't read/heard ANYTHING that puts Johnson and UCLA together. This move makes a lot of sense actually for him, given his experiencing recruiting for Georgia Southern. Thats too bad because I think he would have been the best coach. Especially to those naysayers about academics.

Interesting
Makes a lot of sense.  I hope DG gives him a strong look.  He has really grown on me and he has a lot of positives as noted in prior diaries.  If he goes to GTech, they will be a consistent power in the ACC.  It won't take long because they have a lot of talent on that team already.

The Posts on BN put me on the Johnson Bandwagon
All things considered, he's my first choice, too.

Wanted to make a note
the deed hasn't quite been done yet and I just finished reading up on the front page posts. I apologize as the fishwrap link that I provided above still counts as unsubstantiated rumor whirling around in the media. But as someone here pointed out, it is also up on ESPN, so there must be some level of credibility to the story. Regardless, I have been fully convinced for several weeks that there is no way kd can survive this season, not with everyone talking up a storm about his incompetencies.

NO gloating. NO cheering...
... until a good coach is hired.

It's unfortunate for UCLA and for KD that it had to come to this.  Many of the regulars in the Nation  would have been ECSTATIC to have been proven wrong by KD taking this team to its full potential this year or last year, and would have gladly given him his props in the wake of a clear Pac-10 title and trip to the Rose Bowl on January 1 via the FRONT DOOR, rather than through an accidental backwards flop through the north end concessions kitchen window.

We just want to see our teams succeed, AND do so without off-the-field misconduct or academic tomfoolery.

Let's just get the right coach in here so we WIN, and do so without becoming like the scandal factory across town.

It's not time for amen yet, BB
The benediction has yet to be spoken.  In fact, we haven't even had the sermon.  As soon as DG preaches about poor choices and repentence and sinning no more and about turning your back on the things that keep getting you in trouble, then I'll be ready to give him a few "amens."  But not yet.

Hear your point
Just saying "amen" that this is not a time to be celebrating or gloating.
