What's done..

is DONE.

Continuing a week of healing and rebuilding on campus, the LAT reports that former (say it with me... ffffforr-- sorry) UCLA Football head coach Karl Dorrell has elected not to lead the Bruins in their December rematch vs. Brigham Young in the 2007 Pioneer Vision Las Vegas bowl... opening the door for defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker's head coaching debut.

Star-divide

When he fired Dorrell on Monday, athletic director Dan Guerrero said he would let him decide whether he wanted to coach the Bruins' last game of the year, Dec. 22 against BYU.

Dorrell said Tuesday he thinks it is in the team's best interest if he doesn't show up. He says he doesn't want to take any attention away from his former players.

That's doing it right.  Hopefully, with a slate of other, very well qualified coaches on the interview docket, this should be a fun (if not fairly interesting) game for Bruin fans as Walker takes his turn at the helm.

Hopefully, I speak for everyone in the Bruin family when I say, "Good luck, Coach."

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Best of luck to him and his family.
KD could very well be back to the NFL by next season, or get a spot at a non-BCS school and started getting back to Bowl Games in a few years.

To quote "The Godfather," as we often do around here, I hope he does well, "so long as [his] interests don't conflict with mine."

If he takes another job next year...
I wonder if the salary he earns offsets his buyout.  In other words, if he gets a coordinator position in the NFL for $400k, would our buyout only be $1.6M?

It does
not sure if TV work (if he could get it) counts, but any salary derived from coaching counts against the buyout.

My choice
U.C.L.A. is a wealthy university.
U.C.L.A. does not act like a wealthy football U.
U.C.L.A. has always been PC.
U.C.L.A. would be the door mat than brake PC.
U.C.L.A. wants DeWayne to be the head coach.
U.C.L.A. knows that DeWayne has not been a HC.
U.C.L.A. wants to be PC.
DeWayne Walker yes! Mariucci-dead man walking and Leach would not fit into the U.C.L.A. PC mold.

UCLA has students, faculty, and alumni...
... that can obviously write sentences which are much clearer than your eloquent "U.C.L.A. would be the door mat than brake PC."

It's a wonder you have the mental capacity to walk around and breathe without the use of a detailed set of instructions... with pictures colored in with the jumbo-sized crayons.

Nine out of ten junior high school students
can write better than this guy.  I assume he's Dean's List at justsc.

It's kind of sad that justsc people feel such a need to hang out here.  It's completely understandable, because what justsc guy wouldn't want to hang out with Bruins.  Nestor, can you create something like BN Lite where these kids can play in an atmosphere more conducive to the education of adolescents?

They have to hang out here...
no one participates over there. The most comments consistently are topics having to do with UCLA.
