Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

The New Polls are out

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings?poll=1

And the Bruins are back up to #2 in both the coaches poll and the sportswriters.  As I have said here before, in basket ball, the polls don't mean a whole lot, however, they can be a judge of relative strengths of programs.  Even saying that, having seen some games by some highly ranked teams, I have to wonder how many voters are just going by what they see on Sports Center and what they read in the box score.

Still, it's good to see that the Pac-10 in general, and the Bruins in particular, are getting some well deserved recognition.

And I'm quite happy to say that due to the efforts of the best wife on the planet, I'll be going to see the Cal game on Feb. 22.  These tickets are one of the best Christmas tickets I have ever received.  It'll be nice to get back to LA for a quick visit, and see some basketball, UCLA style.  She has never been to LA, so I'll get to show her some of the sights, and show her my old stomping grounds.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  At least I know that it won't be like what it is in the DC area right now (sub 20's most of the day)

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Have fun, but the weather is schizo this month...
High of 80 degrees yesterday, high of 62 degrees last week.

schizo weather? Wish we had it....
I would take schizo weather in a heartbeat right now. Here in Chicago, the temp walking from my train to the office was -4 and with the windchill it was -24. 62 sounds fine by me.

Tell me Ken Grossman is walking home...
I was born in Chicago.  Wanted to strangle him yesterday.

Yeah, the weather is a bummer.
Got down to 60 or so today in the Tampa area.  Whew!  Had to wear a sweater while I was playing golf.  (Being retired is nice.)
