KD Is Sleeping At the Wheel Again

Basketball team is my happy place. But I am still keep tracking of Dullard's pathetic football program. Dullard is still looking for a WR coach. And he is interviewing coaches from sh!tty D-1 program and high schools. Dohn is keeping track on his blog:

Former UCLA receiver Reggie Moore is in the mix for the vacant receivers job, sources told me a few hours ago. Moore spent the last three seasons at North Dakota State working with the wide receivers, and is the third person interviewed by coach Karl Dorrell who played at UCLA.
UCLA part-time intern Eric Scott and San Jose State receivers coach Brent Brennan also interviewed for the job
Moore played in the NFL with the New York Jets and Los Angeles Rams as a receiver and return specialist. I remember Scott when I was a student. But I have no clue on Moore or Brennan. No idea what they did when they were at UCLA.

These guys may be good. Who knows. We will wait to see who is the final hire. But the fact is other programs like Washington are picking up more experienced coach for the same position. Yeah while KD is looking at HS coaches and coaches from San Jose State for WR coach, TY is picking up NFL coaches to fill out the same position in Seattle: This morning it became official, Charlie Baggett has been named WR coach at UW. Ty and Charlie have been friends since college, and both hail from North Carolina. Baggett has coached 10 years in the NFL, and Randy Moss had his greatest success under Charley. He also spent 14 years as an assistant at Michigan State. This is a great hire! Losing Yarber was unfortunate, but we replaced him with a better position coach, the question remains can he recruit as well as Yarber who had great South Central LA ties? That's what happens when a coach like Dorrell doesn't seem to have any credibility within his immediate peers. He is looking at HS coaches.

Meanwhile, no news out of UCLA recruiting front even though we have more than 20 something scholies to give out. Dorrell hasn't secured a single committment yet while Pom Pom already has 5 commits. And he just nabbed DE Wes Horton, who happens to be a UCLA legacy recruit. Yes, Horton's Dad Myke played for Dick Vermeil at UCLA. Everyone here I am sure knows about Mark Tyler. This will be the second consecutive year Pom Pom has nabbed a recruit, who because of his Bruin roots should have had UCLA on his radar. Instead Bruins didn't get a whiff.

Guess recruit knows KD is just UCLA basketball version of Roach Laughin.

Thank God for Ben Howland.

Go Bruins!
