"last open game thread for the season"?
I'll take that as the last open game thread for the REGULAR season... or something like that.

I will not care if they start our second team
But, I want our starters not to sit back. They need to play like they've been playing lately.
I'd prefer the bench start.
Saw Chace Stanback on FSN
He is the best non-Mcdonalds All-American I've EVER SEEN!!!!!
6-8, Great B-Ball IQ, really good defender, above average 3 point shot, good dribble, and Unselfish to the tune of 30pts 6 assts. WOW he is really good.
Reminds me of Tayshaun Prince...AS A COLLEGE PLAYER!!
It will be tough to keep him off the court trust me.

Unselfish
It's a hallmark of the coach and team.
Unselfish allows us to play deep.
Would anyone prefer a jerk like OJ2?
Hold the Mayo...
MIM
I dont want to know anyone
But Stanback is someone i've watched ever since he committed and all he does is get better and better.

I'm just superstitious enough
UW's arena always has WEIRD...
MIM
the game is on the east coast
Does State Farm raise your rates...
Just curious.
MIM
I guess the only way
If we really have the "big game" syndrome, then I guess it's good for us that every NCAA Tournament game is a "big game".
Wright's in with DC
Pay back for Wright...
Nice to see the guys trying to fidn Wright right off the bat.
Appleby looks like that punk...
Go Mata!
Keefe? Looks like they're taking it easy with AA2
I turned to the computer
Whiny UW fans
I don't think it's that bad
The real problem is that these idiot refs listen to it.
It's not the fouls
Love the boos for OUR defense...
Touch foul on Roll
Same way Luc gets a charge...
Pac-10 refs.
We're still battling, inching closer.
In Ben We Trust.
On a fastbreak
Mata with a blocking foul
If our bench really helps us here...
it hurts us in

WTF was that???
WTF was that?
Is DC even capable of directing a score in the last 30 seconds of the half anymore?
MIM
I love DC but
Stanford
Unfortunately
Collison was terrible
The starters have to play like starters
They either have to play to win -- or if we are going to give the game away, let's use it to get time for the subs.
I'd be in favor

Who cares about the Huskies
Our commercial sucks
I would play deep
I think they can win the game.
Right now, no one is getting anything out of this game.
This may also give us a reason to step up and play hard in the Pac 10 tourney. To continue like this -- for the swtarters -- is embarassing even if understandable.
Good start to the second half.
Collison with a bad decision
Collison is trying to bring them back by himself.
I know we're the #1 seed

They are not playing great D
We are not playing well.
Neither are they, juust better than us.

Appleby acting like an a-hole
This game is pretty much over. UCLA is shooting the worst I've seen since the WVU game. UW is very hungry. Everything is going UW's way today.
it ain't the refs fault
Man, we're bleeding inside...
so..
we're out of timeouts
mata's got 4 fouls.
we're shooting 30%
Wow...we look bad again on national television....and this time we're playing with DC.

Not just that
No point in having leftover TOs at the end of the game, might as well use them.
We get submarined...
yea, i saw that
I'm already over it, bring on the tournament. There's still a #1 overall to secure (though there's no doubt we won't be a #1 seed).
It is because Shipp has the ball

BIG difference between the 2 games
One of the dumber games we've played
Oh well...
IT BOILS DOWN TO THIS...
(2) If they don't, oh boyyy...
The guys read too much of their own press. Don't doubt for a second that BH is going to go pat Riley/ Bataan Death March on these guys in practice this week tog et that arrogance and compalcency out of their system.
If this has to be the last kick-in-the-butt before the Tournament to get our guys to stop:
-- throwing lazy passes,
-- jacking up dumb-ass shots,
-- losing their guys on defense,
-- half-assing their box-outs, and
-- stop going for glory points rather than sensible shots (yeah, DC, I'm talking about you and your failtue to pass to the Captain) ...
... then so be it.
Mata working inside was good.
Russell sparking the team was good.
Arron's will and fire, as always, were good.
No further injuries (as far as we can tell) were GREAT.
Rest up, study up, heal up, D up.
Next week is the last set of quizzes before Finals.
GET TO FREAKING WORK.

I don't see this particular set of events occurring at the same time in another game this season, but if they could eliminate the stupid decisions altogether, then we would really have something.

In That Regard
Honestly
Good of Ben to hold Aboya out of the game. We need him for the stretch run far more than a meaningless regular season game.
My concern is just so that we stay a No. 1.
The kicker is that if we had won this game, IMO, we wouldn't have needed to win the Toruanment outright to leave no doubt for No.1 in the West, without getting shipped anywhere.
Now, I'm thinking we need at least TWO solid wins in the Tourney to lock that up. If Florida, Kansas, UNC, and OSU or Wisconsin all get hot in their respective conference tournaments, there could be some jockeying for No. 1 seeds.
MIM

Not to mention
Expectations
After mailing it in ....
- This is the point in the season when our guys should be eager for red meat (i.e., wins against teams like Washington). I didn't see it today.
- I thought the WSU game was indicative that we were ready to roll and were developing momentum that is necessary to carry us through the NCAA tourney. We need a big time effort in PAC 10 Tourney -- to put us into the right frame of mind for the NCAA tourney.
- If we don't win the PAC 10 tourney, I don't think we'll get a No. 1 seed in the NCAA.
by uclagradscdad on Mar 3, 2007 1:45 PM PST reply actions
You're out of your mind
We might need a big time effort in the Pac 10 Tournament as you say from the standpoint of momentum, but the 1 seed is pretty much ours, because the other teams out there have given up the rights to it.
If we lose to Cal/OSU
