Around SBN: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez Heats Up, Hughes Talks Retirement

Good start to the weekend

I had to watch the game last night on MMOD, which actually worked, amazingly enough, after the debacle of last Thursday.  It was good to see the Bruins come out and play a very tough team, and get the "W".
Even with the offense not hitting on all cylinders, a team that is fundamentally sound on the defensive side of things can still control a game.
I'm very much looking forward to the game tomorrow.  At least this one be be on TV in the DC area, and not blacked out so CBS can show an east coast team.
Another "W" will make this a great weekend.  Today is my 6 month wedding anniversary, and my sister just got back the results of her blood work.  A year ago she was given a year to live, with ovarian cancer, and Tuesday she'll have her last chemo session.  Her numbers have all dropped to well within the normal range, and she only has to have blood work done monthly for the next year or so.
On the more mundane side, the house painting is going well, too.  No more walls that look like a smoker had lived in the house for 30 years.

All in all, it's been a good start to the weekend.

We hope the BenBallers will . . .
bestow upon you a wonderful 6-month anniversary gift in the form of nets around their necks tomorrow!  Best wishes to your sister as well.  GO BRUINS!

Nice to have good news.
"WNL" is a nice thing to have on one's chart.  (That's "within normal limits" for the uninitiated.)

I echo Charnaw's sentiments.

Just like
UCLA was able to excise and vanquish its cancer (Lavinoma, from the Latin word for anus), we hope your sister has forever banished hers and has many years of WNLs ahead of her while witnessing many Bruin championships. Starting with this year's basketball. Please.

With apologies to Sir Winston,
if the Empire lasts a thousand years, they will look at "Lavinoma, from the Latin word for anus" and say THIS was Tasser's finest hour.
