I know this is early but I am getting excited about football. I am definitely on the side of people who are expecting a PAC-10 championship or a change in leadership. But I am still excited to get back to going to games. I love being at the Rose Bowl during football season.
Some schedule times are coming to light already and I am happy to hear the news. I was wondering if anyone else likes what is coming out. I know it is real early, and we will surely talk about the games as they draw a lot nearer. But here are a few games for me that I can't wait to go to.
Obviously, I stated in an earlier diary that it has been sort-of announced that the first home game (BYU) is going to be a night game. I like night games early in the year as it gets hot out there.
ABC announced their "prime-time" schedule yesterday and as I expected, UCLA-ND will be a 5pm PST start. On October 6, this is going to be a great game. I like the late afternoon start, the Rose Bowl surroundings look great at that time of day. I will be there, but for those watching I'm sure the T.V. shots will look great.
Also, it was announced that UCLA will be playing it's first ever Thanksgiving weekend game. The Oregon game is going to be great, the sky will be blue as L.A. has beautiful skies when there is no or little smog. Also, during half-time of that game the band will perform the Fall of Troy show with the help of the Oregon band.
I am, of course looking forward to all of the games on the schedule, but these games stand out for more than just the opponent. Let's hope Karl and Co. can drum up great game plans and make those games a real pleasure to watch.
I guess I just can't wait for football to start.
