OL Humani Stevens Commits

Humani Stevens an offensive linemen from Helmet (California) committed to the Bruins today.  Stevens is 6-2, 290 lbs.  Stevens is going to play guard or center for UCLA.  Stevens right now is a three star prospect according to Scout (4 star on Rivals, 11th ranked G nationally), but he has a good chance to move up in the rankings, because he has started gaining a lot more attention.  USC is supposedly going to offer him soon and many thought he was going to go there, but he decided to be a Bruin.  It is always great to grab a recruit from Petey.  Stevens is known for his aggressive style of play and is a real mauler.  He probably the most talented offensive line recruit so far in UCLA's 08' class.

UCLA now has 19 commitments and they will probably take one more offensive linemen.  LB Donovan Carter is close to making a decision and he is a heavy UCLA lean.  Nelson Rosario (WR) is another top target that UCLA has a good chance of picking up a commitment from this summer.  Rosario is a huge get for us, literally and figuratively.  6-5 wide receivers with speed and good route running ability do not come around often.  We will need to add a DT and a star RB (to go with Dean) and we should have a potential top 5 recruiting class.  Let's finish this thing strong!!

Cool
Welcome to the Bruin family Hamani. I hear he will be keeping his options open and still take some trips.

this is a huge get
we were getting goose eggs on the O line. Glad to see we got a legitimate  top notch  Olineman

The o-line commit is
HUGE.  It's a big get.  We just need a couple more skilled players on the offensive side and this class is stellar.

I certainly hope our recruiters are keeping in touch.

He is not coming
His grades seem to be a big problem and there are some questions about his attitude.

Steven Decommitted
Found this on Bruin Roar. According to the link there to BruinBlitz:
After committing to UCLA this past weekend, Hemet (Calif.) offensive lineman Hamani Stevens faced a lot of questions about how solid his commitment really was. Stevens took an unofficial visit to UCLA earlier today and now says he is no longer committed anywhere.
