It's a YouTube kind of night and I can't watch this enough times:

Thank you, Nestor
I heard somewhere that Barnes called an audible on that play, and that Donahue was really p.o.-ed (until after the play went for a TD.) Are those legends true?
It has to be true
Barnes had nothing, NOTHING to lose! And that is what happens when you are not afraid to lose. If I ever meet him, I may drop to my knees and tell him that "I am no worthy!".
Excerpt from Bill Plaschke article...
He threw one touchdown pass against USC on an audible while his coach, Terry Donahue, was shouting, "No! No! No!" He threw another touchdown pass on an audible that had receiver coach Rick Neuheisel shouting, "Oh my God! What is he doing?" He threw for 384 yards that afternoon, 204 yards during a fourth-quarter comeback, and 90 yards on a game-winning touchdown pass.By the way, if you're in the LA area, Fox PrimeTicket is scheduled to replay the 1992 game again this Saturday at 1:00 AM (PrimeTicket replays a lot of the past UCLA/USC games in the early morning). That's how I was able to capture & post the clip of this play on YouTube. Unfortunately, PrimeTicket sometimes isn't that reliable as far as presenting what the TV Guide says. A few months ago, TV Guide listed this game on PrimeTicket and I got a replay of a high school volleyball game instead. Grrrr...

I was a high school freshman
well since you asked . . .
On the walk to the car in the south end of the park, I heard the roaring for the score that made it 31-24. Nearly lost control on the 605 south, desperately trying to get to my folks' house in the SG valley to catch the last couple of minutes on TV. Ranks right up there with the '75, '80, '86, '95 and '07 versions of the game.
