Wristen got the gig
According to CSU-Pueblo's official athletics website, Wristen has been hired as their head football coach. Wristen, for those of you who haven't been keeping up on the diaries, was the special teams and tight ends coach at UCLA in 2006 and recently resigned to pursue this position. (That's what the press release said, at least.)
Official release from CSU-Pueblo
Congrats to Coach Wristen and best of luck to him.
It looks like he'll need that luck -- I didn't realize that the job he was up for was for a newly reinstated football program that doesn't begin play until 2008.
I need to work on making my diaries 200 words.

My apologies to Coach Wristen
Did KD have anything to do with this hire?
And if he didn't, then what we have here is a KD assistant who preferred to use his PARENTS as a reference instead of his head coach.
Could you imagine a Howland assistant not using his relationship with Howland as a reference for getting a gig?
We Can't Criticize Wristen
And think about it. Would you want the word "Dorrell" anywhere on your resume? I don't blame Wristen one bit for not soliciting any help from Mr. Dorrell in his job search. Can you imagine the glowing recommendation from Mr. Dorrell, who more and more reminds me of Mr. Lumberg from "Office Space" -- "Uh, yeah. Wristen? Uh, Yeah. He's making good progress. He's turning the corner. (Takes sip of coffee.) He's really moving out the learning curve. And he puts the cover sheet on his TPS reports."
sorry if I wasn't clear....
