Dear Santa,...

I just got the BearWear catalog in the mail so I thought I'd start my wish list early this year.  My general preference is powder blue and classic script.

  1.  A sweatshirt - that way I can say that my love for UCLA keeps my heart warm.
  2.  Quarterback's Cap - I'm not a southpaw; I'm not Jesus.  But, if it's good enough for Ben, it's good enough for me.
  3.  Baseball Cap #2 - a dad can never have enough hats in his wardrobe.  I wear mine as I coach my daughter's soccer team.  It communicates that I expect precision, execution, tradition, and championships.  Wait, I coach an under-8 girls team, not a college revenue sport.  Does it come in pink?
  4.  Polo Shirt - This year I'll pass on the Dorrellian Blue Polo.  The white just screams, "I'm a championship water polo coach!"
  5.  Coffee Mug (shot)- Nestor did a background check on me and discovered the low-down things that coffee has driven me to do.  I'm not proud of my past.  Nestor and I have spoken at length about my background and my previous incidents, including the ones in which he was unaware, and the circumstances surrounding them.  I fully understand and am very clear on the importance of being a good role model and the standard of behavior expected of a member at Bruins Nation.  Please love me for who I am, not the monster that coffee makes me.
  6.  Onesie - because #4 is on his way.
  7.  Be a BearWear model - How did ASUCLA know that Eric Scott (pg 6 of catalog) was going to be in the news at print time?  I smell something fishy.  They told me I lacked experience.  Come on, he only has one more prior than me.  Besides, mine are hardcore - I used to run with Vanilla Ice.
What's on your list?

Okay, that was a freebie.

Oh, I know, how about a degree. Just 24 units left...

a degree
Congrats!  Can you see the light at the end of your tunnel?

I deserve no congrats yet
That light you describe is kind of a moving target...it depends on my mood that day :)

I'm hoping for that expanding banner...
... the one that is oddly priced at $11.09.

Check it out -- it's a retracting banner that goes from 30" x 10" to 2" x 10", so it can fit "into your pocket or purse."  "UCLA" on one side, "GO BRUINS" on the back.  Blue, with yellow printing.

I doubt the RB ushers will try too hard to enforce a no-sign rule this year.

That's coming with me and all my get-past-the-metal-detector noisemakers to every game!

I can only imagine...
a sea of UCLA fans sitting in the endzone section at an away game.  As their kicker sets up for a PAT, we're opening and shutting the banners together and using your noisemakers.  Anything to help our cause.

The Reason for the price...
is so that with tax it comes to an even $12 and the people selling them at the game don't have to pull out pennies.  Hopefully we can get a huge group of people with them and make the place sickeningly (for the other team) blue.

I'm all for that...
... and I never thought about the sales tax implciation.  Good eye, there.

I don't know how they'll do as thudner stix/ noisemakers -- I'm just glad it gives me an official, semi-sturdy sign that doesn't fold like regular paper.

Besides, the past couple of years I've ordered about a dozen pairs of blue blow-up thunderstix from Stumps Spirit.com before the $C game and handed them out in my section.  They're only about $0.89 per pair, IIRC.  I'm surprised the Rally Committee doesn't order them for games, but I assume that it must be a clean-up/ recycling/ disposal issue or something.

is that just a nice way of saying
I've got a horse face?  Maybe that's why they didn't ask me to be a BearWear model? ;)

lol
I got my Dorrellian blue polo on Fri! And I am wearing it to work tomorrow.

Moon ... you gotta post here more.

GO BRUINS.

just promise me...
that you'll laminate your to-do list and tuck it in the front of your pants.  Not only is it fashionable, I'm sure it's one of the "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People."

The people at the store nearly crapped themselves
...when the Scott thing broke.

The catalog apparently had just finished printing and was being shipped when the arrest was made.  There were lots of uncomfortable people in the store offices for a while I think.

BTW, moon...
... was the sweatshirt line a "Master and Commander" reference?  Just curious.

Admiral Nelson...
was referenced often in Patrick O'Brien's series.

by lunabruin on Aug 13, 2007 8:35 PM PDT up reply actions

That's what I thought...
... something about "my love of country" or "my patriotism" would keep the Admiral warm instead of a regular peacoat, or something like that.

I assume you're not talking
about Admiral Nelson of "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea."  (Or as Mad Magazine put it, "Voyage to See what's at the Bottom.")
