OT, but a good example of stupidity

Yahoo is reporting that Barry Bonds is getting ready to sue Curt Schilling for defamation having to do with the 'roids issue.

As some point, someone needs to explain to Barry that if he files a lawsuit, he's going to have his deposition taken, and he's going to be asked lots and lots of things under oath.  There is a reasonable likelihood that he could get a protective order to keep his depo transcript from being made public, but if I were the judge, he would have a tough time convincing me of that.

The essence of a defamation action is damage to one's reputation.  It seems difficult for me to accept that anyone will change his feeling about Barry's reputation based on another accusation that he knowingly took 'roids.

Barry, you're not going to vindicate your reputation.  The Kool-Aid drinkers in your entourage (and your extended entourage) don't believe it anyway.  So why would you be so stupid as to subject yourself to a depo?  I wasn't the most brilliant deposition taker in the world, but I would certainly be able to take Barry apart.

It would seem that Mr. Dorrell is not the only person who doesn't appear to be too bright.  And Barry, you don't need the money.
