Kemonte Bateman getting cold feet?

Bruin Blitz is reporting the following on committed wide receiver Kemonte Bateman:

Bruin Blitz had heard rumblings that wide receiver commit Kemonte Bateman (6-0, 176, 4.53) from Crenshaw HS was waivering on his commitment and was looking hard at another Pac Ten school. We were able to confirm those rumors on Wednesday night in an interview with the four-star prospect. Another Pac Ten school is coming hard after Bateman and the super-soft UCLA commitment has scheduled a visit with said school.

I don't have access to the rest of the story but does anyone know more about this?  Does anyone know who the other school recruiting Bateman is?  Is it because he can't qualify with his grades/test scores or is it because Karl Dorrell has been stockpiling next year's class with wide receivers.  Hopefully this isn't a situation where the Kevan Walker signing caused Kemonte Bateman to think that there would be a logjam at that position and that he wouldn't see the field for a couple of years.  I really like Moutra and Rosario coming in next year but I really hope we don't lose out on a stud like Bateman because from what I've heard, he's the game breaking type of wideout we need in our program.  KD and Eric Scott have a lot of explaining to do.  This better not be another DeSean Jackson and Covaughn Deboskie situation where KD didn't recruit them hard enough.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Sounds like academics
According to Dohn:
To say Crenshaw reciever Kamonte Bateman's commitment to UCLA is "iffy'' is a bit misleading, because there are other factors at work. If it was a simple yes-no choice, sources tell me Bateman would go to UCLA in a heartbeat.
However, Bateman needs to straight out his academics so he can be admitted to UCLA. Therefore, he is doing the smart thing and keeping other options open, just in case that does not happen. Arizona State was always his second choice, and will likely continue to be that way until it is determined whether or not he gets into UCLA.

Hopefully, Bateman will take care of business academics-wise and we'll see him next year.

From everything I have heard
don't expect Kamonte to be a Bruin and possibly a couple other recruits.

Then again we did just hire USC's academic adviser.

ASU
Can you imagine an experienced, proven, winner of a coach at a school with low entrance requirements coming to scarf recruits from UCLA? It is duck soup as they say for Dennis Erickson....

Not necessarily
Remember John Robinson? He was also an experience, proven, winner of a coach but he stunk it up in his second stint even though he snagged some recruits. Also remember Bill Walsh, who did ok in his first season but not so well later. Sometimes when you have been out of the game for a while, you can't catch up...
