I will let everyone else write about the horrific game today.  Preparation, intensity, our imbecilic WCO.  Fire away.  My topic however is one that made me as upset as I've ever been in my almost 40 years of Bruin fanaticism.

Karl Dorrell should have been fired before he had a chance to walk back to the locker room.  When the score is 34-6, then 37-6, then 44-6 with tons of time left in the 4th quarter, YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR STARTERS IN THE GAME!!!  In one of the great injustices I've ever witnessed in a sporting event, Dorrell kept ordering his senior-laden starting units, on both sides of the ball, back out on the field.  With our emotion level understandably down a few notches at that point, our players were not only sitting ducks on offense, as they just kept teeing off on Ben, but so much more susceptible to injury as a result.

Anyone who has ever played competitive sports knows this is the truth.  As angry as I was earlier in the game at the way the players (and coaches) had performed, I felt so sad for these kids to be repeatedly put back on the field.

AND, WELL, LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!!!  It would not be surprising to learn tomorrow that Ben has a concussion from the numerous 4th quarter shots he took.  And then there's Bruce Davis.  Having already lost Brigham for possibly the season, KD rolls the dice and what do you know, our best defensive player - the heart and soul of our team - is assisted off the field after injuring his knee.

AND FINALLY - SHANNON TEVAGA.

Hey Shannon, I heard you suffered a serious injury in your final season.  What happened?

Oh, I got my knee torn up in the 4th quarter of a road game.

Wow, how terrible.  You must have felt awful having to leave the game in crunch time like that with the game on the line.

Well, actually, we were down 44-6 at the time with only about 5 minutes remaining.  This wasn't how I envisioned my senior year to go.  I didn't think my college career would end like that.  I'll have Coach to thank for that for the rest of my life.

Seriously, the players should revolt.  KD should not be placed in a position of authority over these kids.  He should be fired for so many reasons.  None of them, however, is more important than the injustice he committed against his players today.
