Bobby Bowden didn't fire his own son as FSU's OC last year. The Alumni were so fed up that they raised enough money to buy out his contract. Maybe that's what we need to do.
Obviously Mr. Guerrero is more tolerant of ineptitude than most of us outside the Athletic Department. Just as obviously, Mr. Guerrero totally ignored the petition to fire Coach Toledo's successor last year. Maybe what needs to happen is to meet with Mr. Guerrero (gotta be face to face) and explain that we will guarantee to buy out Coach Toledo's successor's contract provided he goes now.
I don't know exactly where the money is going to come from. At least one alum I know (me) is not exactly swimming in excess cash at this point, but I could cough up something.
As an aside, has anyone ever taken Mr. Guerrero to task for extending the contract or whatever it is that means Coach Toledo's successor will be set for life as soon as he's fired. (He truly would never have to work another day in his life with the amount of money he has stolen from UCLA. (It's larceny to take money under false pretenses.)) When the waiter consistently brings the wrong dish, and it's rotten to boot, you don't reward that guy with a tip.
Slightly OT from my buy out scheme (or more accurately, buy out dream), will anyone in the try to cross-examine Coach Toledo's successor? Will anyone from the MSM actually try to pin down Mr. Guerrero to ask him to articulate the justification for keeping Coach Toledo's successor on board for even one more day? Nah - they don't want to lose their precious access.
