I can see it now

The similarities are striking between the two schools, and all signs are pointing to a UCLA-Michigan Rose Bowl.

Both teams wear a shade of blue and gold
Both teams play Notre Dame at home
Both teams are led by a coach whose names have a pair of L's and R's, as well as the word for automobile (at least phonetically) "Car and Kar"
Both teams have a coach who has their own dedicated website...dumpdorrell and sackcarr
Both teams have already suffered the one humiliating loss that has sealed the fate of their respective coaches
And, as a result, the mood of the players on both teams have already rebounded...for NEXT year.

Still, with plenty to play for and with eerie fate leading both this season, UCLA and Michigan will save face, win out, and find themselves in a traditional P10-B10 Rose Bowl.

However, in a startling show of accountability, both schools agree to play a free exhibition on the Brookside golf course outside of the Rose Bowl  prior to the Appalachian State - Utah showdown in the real Rose Bowl.

Its a pipe dream, yes, mostly because Appalachian State and Utah will be meeting in the BCS championship game in New Orleans, but one can dream.

For those of you reality-based Bruins, we'll see you at that Las Vegas Bowl being led (again) by that undefeated towel waving coach serving as our interim HC after Dorrell gets fired...waiting once again with baited breath to find out if we will get a real coach this time, unlike the last time when Toledo was fired...and hoping this time that the next guy won't require five years of painful experience to figure out if he's a keeper or if a corner has been turned.

Apologies for the rant, but this is what happens when a ray of hope for better days in football arises out of the depths of despair.
