KLove Talking Team, Defense, Howland ... and Championship

I just saw this on Yahoo Sports on the front of their college basketball page. A video of an interview with Kevin Love (look for it in the center of the page under "Video" - there's no direct video link). Dont know how old it is or if its been posted on here yet, but its a great video.  A few points:

  1. When asked why he chose UCLA, KLove said first it was Ben Howland!  That should put to rest the argument some are making that with the departure of Howland's key assistant Kerry Keating, who recruited Love but then left for the head coaching job at Santa Clara, that Love's desire to be at UCLA had somehow diminished. Love went on to say that he came to UCLA also because Howland teaches defense!
  2. KLove reiterated that he doesn't like to talk about himself, that basketball is a team game and that its team achievement that he seeks! Nice!
  3. He mentioned many times that he is here to win championships, and expects to compete for the national championship!  He then quickly followed that by saying he knows it will take hard work and that is what he is doing now.
  4. Love says all of this effortlessly as if it is the natural way, like its in his DNA.
It's still blows my mind that after 7 torturous seasons I sometimes have to pinch myself to believe that I was able to see 2 consecutive Final Fours (including a title game). And then I think about what's next (is it wrong to ask for more when some programs cough SuC cough have nothing?) ... we have THIS to look forward to next year!! And then the Ginzu Knives amazing feature 21 comes to mind ... "and that's not all."  We have the Fab 4 coming in '08!!  WTF?!! Quick, dont touch anything!
