Yahoo article on Reggie Bush

This link takes you to the most recent article as well as a link to view the evidence they have been able to gather. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ys-bushfolo011008&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

I know we have some attorney's on this board.  What do you believe is the hold up in determing that Reggie Bush did in fact violate NCAA rules?  At the very least, the receipts should show that improper benefits were recieved. There is likely larger forces at play and the NCAA is a paper tiger but come on.  If 1 of our guys can get suspended for taking a bag of groceries left on his doorstep, guys like Bush need to be put in their place.  USC has been a money making machine for the NCAA recently.  However, seeing how other programs (OU, Colorado, etc) have been dinged, will they stand on the sidelines if nothing is done against USC?  I hope there is a huge fuss made by other programs and they pressure the NCAA to remedy the situation.  If not, what will prevent others from turning a blind eye towards violations?  Why self report anything if the programs that are violating the rules do not get punished?

Secondly, will USC be dinged with the "lack of institutional control"?  They are turning a blind eye to this whole situation however I highly doubt that they had no idea what was going on.  PC allows agents to come to their practice and roam the sidelines on gameday.  Is it reasonable to conclude that PC & his entire staff had zero idea of what was going on?  I don't buy it.

Please chime in with your thoughts.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

How stupid is Bush?
How greedy is his step dad?

All he had to do was wait a couple months and none of this would have happened. Just open a bunch of credit cards to pay for your diamond earrings and hip hop liefestyle and pay them off with your first NFL check. Then again, we are talking about a guy who was "educated" at Southern Cal, so that may be asking too much.

What an idiot. I hope he brings that festering pile of shit in South Central down with him.

There is no way that Southern Cal gets away clean here.

Todd McNair
I think McNair is the key guy. If I remember correctly McNair figured in some of these Yahoo stories before. They need to dig a little more into this and figure out if McNair knew about lot of this  alleged details.

Yes
but McNair won't "bark".

Bush is Stupid
He should have honored his commitment. At that point the group as a whole would have a vested interest in keeping his transgressions out of the public eye.

Nestor mentioned a book mailing campaign to the NCAA. Maybe this could be our next movement here at BN. I'm sure that with some creative outreach we could include the fan bases of other schools who for reasons of their own would like to see justice done.

Word is that ND and LSU
Are mounting similar campaigns.
