Dominance in Northern California

Wow! What a weekend, first we take down the Lopez twins at Maples and then crush the Bears at Haas.

The "boys" looked great in starting off the PAC 10 season.  Westbrook looked awesome, and I have to say  he does look like the best UCLA athlete in years.  When I think of his athleticism it reminds a bit of Charles O'Bannon.  But Westbrook plays "D" and has really developed his jump shot.

Next week, we have the Washington schools.  They are always a challenge and we always have some serious battles.

Collison looks like he is 100% and finally is in game shape if not he is close to it.  Shipp was money all weekend with his shooting.  But I would like him not to rely so much on the three.  He has a great midrange game and is just as effective from 10-15 feet out.  Love well he continues to impress in all areas.  He took it to Harden, who according to Chad Forde from ESPN is rated above Love as a NBA draft pick.  Aboya was a monster defensively, rebounding was great, and he always gets to those loose balls.  Luc had an off day but he came through on a couple of clutch plays. Mata looks a little banged up. But you see the drop off when he is in and Love is out.  Once Love picks up Howland's defensive expectations it will be awesome.

Those past two games Final Four games against Florida would not have resulted like that if we had Love.  Its just interesting to think about it.
