PB Unleashed: Oregon Open Thread
UCLA Bruins at Oregon Ducks, Oct 11, 2008 7:15 PM PDT
Here we go. The wait is over for our Saturday game thread is finally over.
Anyway you look at it, Bruins are huge underdogs tonight against a talented and well coached Oregon Ducks teams in what is supposed to be one of the toughest and most intimidating venues in college football.
Still if the Bruins come out with focus and eliminate costly mistakes that have hurt them all season. Let's hope they can come out with aggression:
The kickoff time is scheduled for 7:15 pm PST on FSN. You can check out all of our notes on this game here. As always you can click on the links below under "Related Item" for updated game stats and track the game via UCLA's official site and WWL's game page.
Let’s hope the boys in Blue come out and give us an inspired effort. Time to get started with another game thread filled with our passion buckets.
GO BRUINS.

Unfortunately, no.
The FSN station up here in the Twin Cities is showing the Minnesota Wild tonight (they have a preaseason game). I’ll get the game on TV up here, but on a tape-delayed basis which sucks (11:00 P.M. Central time).

wow, digging down the depth chart
Until this series, we have the time of possession advantage by almost 2 minutes
this isn’t a tired D, it’s a D that can’t figure out what to do.
sjh
true, going to get tired
offense has to move chains a few times
Bruins need to be more agreesive
I think that’s the third time Oregon has put the ball on the ground and our players are late to make a play for it.
this is what I was worried about
oregon spreading the field and using option
It hasn't looked good,but we're only down 7
hopefully we play better the next 3 quarters

D needs to stop this third down

I half expected
an onside kick out of Bellotti
Can someone please explain to me WHY we can't return the ball?
Austin seems to keep getting swarmed right as he catches the ball.
19 carries
for 25 yards. 1.3 yards per rush. puts pressure on Craft
I still believe
They’re going to figure something out at halftime, score on their first drive.
Then the D takes over and keeps us in the game.
It can happen.
can someone explain to me how clock management played into this?
Oregon had three timeouts, Crafts incomplete pass saved them one, so they only used two on that series. Does anyone think they wouldn’t have scored then if they didn’t have a timeout to use in the final series? I don’t think it mattered

Just for the Record: Time of Possession
We have held the ball longer by about a minute and a half.
O is keeping the D off the field as best it can.
sjh
really
wow that’s a surprising stat. Didn’t get that feeling while watching

But outgained, 212-94
Ducks ran for 171 yards in the half; Massoli with 128 of those (to counter his 41 yards in the air)
they do have a lot of incompletions
those stop the clock…so they’ve probably had it longer but in terms of game time we’re slightly ahead
