PB Unleashed: Oregon Second Half Thread

Well ... we are hanging in there. At least our defense is giving us a chance (despite that drive at the end of the first half).

If the offense can find a way to get some drives going and put some points on the board in the 3rd quarter and the defense can find a way to contain Masoli, we just might have a shot at in the fourth quarter.

Here is the box score from first half. Interestingly Bruins lead the time of possession but still got outgained 213 to 93 yards (largely due to Masoli terrorizing the defense early with his read option moves on the ground).

Again if the offense can get something together in the second half ... we might have a shot.

So with that in mind ... here is our second half thread.

GO BRUINS.

we're right in this

but I think we need some points on the opening drive. We need to take some momentum

So far

6 quarters on the road – 0 points

That needs to change, even if we don’t win

by SuperBruinMan on Oct 11, 2008 9:00 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

the good thing about this so far

is that if we can slow Oregon at Autzen, we definitely have a good shot of knocking off ASU in Tempe. Combine that with possible wins vs Stanford, OSU, and UW and we still have a bowl shot even if we don’t come back tonight.

Petros is gay

Notice how many homoerotic statements he’s made tonight? Talking about Lockett’s “muscular build” and how players like it when their helmets fly off so “everyone can see how good looking they are.”

nice that makes up for "ball breaking the plane" on the onside

That was obviously a blown call

really needs to step up now. We need them … badly.

by Nestor on Oct 11, 2008 9:48 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

we've been bending

but not breaking this game. The offense was on the field so long I think they were just a step slow on that first play. I believe in them

The crowd is enjoying this

That was a terrible PI call, but we should have had it after the onside kick

by SuperBruinMan on Oct 11, 2008 9:49 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

If you would have told me before the game

that we could be down 7 heading to the 4th I’d take it.

We’ve given ourselves a chance.

Not the first time

we’ve seen classlessness on Oregon’s turf

So this is going according to the plan right?

“All” we needed to do was stay close going into the 4th Quarter.

I'm not sure we could have planned

a couple of those calls, but WTH

D needs to get a three and out to start the 4Q

Get the ball back for out offense and make the momentum shift complete.

Our last touchdown was critical after OU’s short field TD.

Watch the replay of te ducks 3rd td...

Focus your attention on Price, and watch him blow-up the right tackle.

At end of 3rd Q, we have a 9 min time of possession advantage

How can that be true — but that’s what espn stats’s say.

This only makes sense if Oregon is scoring defensive td’s but they haven’t.
