Around SBN: This Should Encourage Juan Mata

Where's Waldo?

A BN reader wanted copies of a couple of the photos I posted of the game winning touchdown at the end of the heart-thumping win over Stanford this past weekend. His nephew is in stands at that end of the field and he wanted to send him a framed photo of the moment. Cool, no problem.

As I looked over the photos, I realized that when I was cropping the photos to post, I concentrated on the players, with the crowd as an afterthought. I missed seeing the pure joy of the moment in the faces of our fans - many I had cruelly cropped out. So I thought I'd post one of the photos, un-cropped and at full resolution, so fans can enjoy the moment again and to find themselves, or someone they know that was at the game in that section. Click the photo below to view it at full resolution (you'll have to scroll around). See the happy faces. See happy Bruins. Mmmmm, Good!

By the way, if you haven't already figured it out, you can view any photo in a slideshow at different sizes and also download photos at full size (which is usually best, if you're planning getting hard copy pictures done). While a slideshow is running, just click on a photo being displayed and you'll get to a thumbnail index of the photos. Select the photo you want by clicking the thumbnails. As you mouse (don't click on it) over the selected photo, a transparent menu appears allowing different viewing sizes as well as an option to download the photo. There is even an EXIF photo info display option for you photo buffs.

Drop me a line if you have questions or would like an original un-cropped photo. Don't worry, none of this costs you one red a cent. Is this part of the Federal Bailout? Nah! Just another one of the perks for being a Bruin.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

I love it!

And I love even more the fact that the first players running towards Harkey to celebrate are the offensive linemen. Those guys are working their asses off, even if they get beat and aren’t quite there yet. But they know what they’re playing for and they know how important they are to this team. There’s been a lot of focus on them and anytime a team drive 80+ yards for a winning TD they should be commended. The big uglies were beautiful.

Great Shots!

In the fishwrap’s photo of the same play, looking back at the press box side, I’m one of the blue dots . You must be one too, Tele. :-)

Great Photographs

Can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoy them. I plan to print a few. Thanks so much.

Being in the Bay Area I resorted to game tracker on one occasion. But my Bruin Attorney daughter came through. Just for babysitting my granddaughters ( pure joy ) she and her husband came back from a fund raiser with tickets to the Cal game this Saturday. I have not figured out which side I am sitting on – but I will be wearing “baby blue -” all the way.

Go Bruins !

What kind of camera and lens do you use?

I’ve been looking for a camera that would capture sports well, and I like your work! =D

PopnFried

Nikon D40x
Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor.
The “VR” in the lens model stands for Vibration Reduction, which is invaluable for zoomed shots.

The key is having a fast lens and a lot of light.
