MJD pimping UCLA in USATODAY
Bumped. Some people call him Mauriceee - Woo Whew! He is still MJD to BN. GO BRUINS. -N
Even though MJD isn't in UCLA blue anymore, he's making sure everybody knows how he feels about UCLA and the $cum across town.
When asked how he feels a about UCLA, he doesn't hold anything back.
To go to a great school like UCLA to get that degree where kids at other schools might become ... and this is no knock...you go to UCLA, you're guaranteed a job at NASA pretty much. That's what happens. You go to UCLA, you might become the next president. It's up there like that. Another great thing about UCLA, they don't lower their standards for their athletes. It was always the same as the regular students. I assume at USC they do other things like pay 'em. But they hold them up to the same standards and when you get like that it does scare some kids away."
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

LOL!
“Pay’em” – Ain’t that the truth. What a warrior and leader he was and still is for UCLA and the Jags.

Oh Damn!
MJD dropped the coughREGGIEcough on them did he? Nice punch about the academic standards and the difference between UCLA and South Central. Let it be known! Say it loud and proud.

Umm
did MJD ever actually get that great degree that he is talking about?
by turs12 on Oct 22, 2008 6:36 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Good Question
He did leave early. And I remember him saying he was going to continue working on his degree after he left. But I was not there if and when he graduated, so I could not say with certainty.

He was doing a blog on the Jaguars website
and in one offseason post he said that he was back in Westwood for a while, but I don’t know if that was for classes or just working out.

WOW! What a year that was. 2005
I remember when we played ASU (I think) and Drew Olson tossed a screen to Joe Cowen for a 90yd TD…and ya knew it was going to be a TD right away. Well Joe Cowen is running his hardest and MJD is seemingly jogging and celebrating and ends up going faster than Cowen. Maybe I cannot explain it well but it’s a funny replay.

YEAH RIGHT! KLove was a block head. UCLA lowers their standards just as much as any other school

ummm....yeah....
you might wanna get that checked out. and i dont mean your vd. i mean your bad stats or just wild conjecture, not sure which this is. its fairly common knowledge that ucla has particularly stringent athletic requirements.

Here is some fact for you
I know most people are allergic to real evidence and stuff but it was only last Saturday that we talked about the fact that UCLA has pretty much the third or so most stringent academic standards for athletes in the country.

You Know..
…folks who cannot reference any facts whatsoever, let alone use punctuation or capitalization shouldn’t actually be calling anyone else a “block head,” should they?
VD, did you ever honestly and sincerely believe that Kevin Love was going to play his one and only year of college basketball for the Oregon Beavers? That’s just sad.

Where to begin
“The VD Special” – now there’s a screen name that suggests intellectual prowess.
“UCLA lowers their standards” – uh, VD, correct English usage would be “UCLA lowers its standards.”
Willful ignorance of the truth – the facts show that UCLA does not in fact lower its standards to admit athletes. Of course, VD, you don’t have to recognize the actual facts. There are plenty of examples of how that works. If you don’t want to accept the fact of gravity, then just keep saying over and over that gravity does not exist. Pretty soon, you’ll begin drifting upwards. As long as you don’t believe something, then it’s not real.
Thank you for beating justsc. Now go away. As an alternative, maybe you can apply to UCLA and see whether your language and analytical skills would get you through the door. Or maybe you already did, and that’s why you’re at Corvallis.

Superior Education does not translate into wins
Oh I’m sorry. I suppose you’re now going to talk about how I capitalized the E in education and give me another English lesson. Thanks for that.
And can someone please tell me who the Oregon Beavers are? Never heard of them..

No, You're Correct There...
Superior education translates into superior academic acheivement.
Your men’s basketball team won a grand total of eight games last season. Eight out of thirty-four games.
“where play action defense” (sic) has won four out of seven football games, I guess. Those are your “wins.” Congratulations.
So, from this exchange, we’ve learned that inferior education does not translate into wins, either.

So, so bitter
It is common knowledge that many people in Oregon are still jealous of UCLA and bitter about K-Love’s decision to attend a school with a far richer basketball (and football) tradition than Oregon State. This includes Beavers suffering from VD.
Here’s a fun trivia question: How many football games did OSU win between 1976 and 1996? I’m assuming you were born after both dates, so consider this a history lesson.
Answer: 44 wins and 183 losses. I am fairly confident, even without double-checking, that OSU was by far the worst team in the Pac-10 during this time frame.
The next time we chat, let’s compare OSU’s basketball tradition with UCLA’s. I wonder how that evaluation will turn out?
Don’t you have a bridge to crawl back under?

mjd comments
what i find interesting is the lack of comment from the times, register or suc its self. the two papers have reporters who are so obsessed about protecting the suc reputation, you would think they would have a comment. trojans suck, go bruins.
