I am going to chose to believe we can win this.

Don’t think we are better, but think we can find a way.

Let’s go bruins.

Remember at the beginning of the season when we were so disciplined?

What happened to that? We’ve gotten a lot better since the beginning of the season, but we’re not as disciplined as we were early.

i think there is a level of frustration with

a) the worst performing offensive line in the NCAA

and

b) The worst performing first half qb in the in the NCAA

by silverlakebruin on Oct 25, 2008 2:44 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah

you’re right. we’re seeing more personal fouls, delay of games, wasted timeouts (real ones, not referee-induced ones), false starts. maybe lack of concentrationas the season wears on?

There is no reason to keep Craft as the starter

There is no way he is getting any better

We can still be bowl eligible

There’s no reason keeping Craft in the rest of this game, but if he’s still our best QB he gives us the best chance of reaching a bowl.

play Forcier

what the heck

All I want for Christmas is Mark Teixeira and Jake Peavy as Angels in 2009.

O line

still needs to give Craft a LOT more time. Not to say he could have done something to make things better, but he would be able to do a lot more if he had time.

BO's Status...

Shouldn’t he be ready to go pretty soon?

Los Angeles Rams and the UCLA Bruins!!!!!

by Minnesota Bruinfan on Oct 25, 2008 3:41 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I blame the staff for this a bit too

They keep having him sit in the pocket when he is not a good pocket passer and the Oline is not giving him time.

At this point, give Forcier the last 9 minutes

see what he can do. Not like we are gonna do much with a 21 point deficit now

by bruinhoo on Oct 25, 2008 3:40 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

that was a 20 second drive by Cal

If Craft comes back out.. whats the over/under on their next drive?

by popopapa on Oct 25, 2008 3:40 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's not all on Kraft. We are so 1 dimensional that we force a weak player to carry the entire load

He’s a 3rd string player.

Our first string players are not playing better than him.

It's not all on Craft

The QB almost always gets more credit than he deserves, on both good and bad plays. But he is throwing into coverage, if that ball wasn’t tipped it would still have been interceptions.

by dokein on Oct 25, 2008 3:42 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You are so right about that.

will it deflate Forcier to take the helm with that in mind?

by popopapa on Oct 25, 2008 3:42 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree. We have no running game and no pass protection

Until the line gets resolved, we are going nowhere on offense.

why does he say you have to give Kal credit?

14 points were from our QB throwing directly to their players

I'm not even a Craft hater

I have been hoping that he would ‘turn it on’ at some point… but from the looks of it he simply doesn’t have what it takes to single-handedly run this offense – because that is what is required of him ATM.

what is Craft going to learn by staying out there?

This is just stupid

For all you football experts out there:

does it seem to you that Craft is simply not reading his receivers well and throwing uncatchable balls to them?

by eubruin on Oct 25, 2008 3:44 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

he doesn't throw accurately ever

and he is inconsistant with his judgements on who to throw to. Drew Olsen actually didn’t throw the ball accurately to receivers, but he picked the right throws to make, and he had receivers who could catch anything he put near them. so, even if the threw high or low, he didn’t throw high or low into double coverage.

by silverlakebruin on Oct 25, 2008 3:46 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

and Drew Olsen had a great running game

Which Kraft doesn’t have. Defenses don’t have to defend the run against us ever, which makes Crafts job much harder

Dear Defense and Coach Walker

We’re sorry we’re so horrible.

Sincerely,

Kevin Craft and the offense.

Craft is pretty good

by dude106 on Oct 28, 2008 5:21 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

well

ASU, OSU, and Washington are all beatable. Cal is better than all 3 of them and we were right in this.

by bucknellbruin on Oct 25, 2008 3:45 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

we should never...

have been in this in the first place. craft threw about 5 passes that cal defenders just dropped. this EASILY could’ve been BYU all over again. so no, we were never in this or at least we shouldn’t have been.

at this point, we need to be thankful we have our defense and their staff. if i read another post or comment saying walker is overrated and our defense always uses the excuse of the offense letting them down…let’s face it – IT’s TRUE.

OSU is way better than KAL this year

I don’t think its even close.

osu had a great game against SC

but that’s it. they’ve been ok other than that, and they come to the rose bowl

by bucknellbruin on Oct 25, 2008 3:48 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

losses are at #3 Penn state, at #13 Utah by 3, and at Stanford

Stanford was the only bad loss, and they beat SUC

Cal got pasted at Arizona and embarrased at Maryland, and looked crappy against us for 3 quarter.

"when you've seen how big the world is, how can you make due with this?"

by silverlakebruin on Oct 25, 2008 3:52 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

They were crushed by Penn State

Though PSU has beaten everyone pretty easily.

UCLA has a good chance at home.

by SuperBruinMan on Oct 25, 2008 3:56 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The problem is that we look so sloppy and undisciplined in this game

Yes, Cal is a good team.

But, we are beating ourselves in so many ways. Delay of game, unsportsmanlike conduct penalties — Cal has nothing to do with that.

question for all you

i kind of want to see what forcier can do, but what good will that do us this season. Chow has convinced CRN not to bench Craft thus far, so who knows if he will bench him this season. At least by having Craft in the game hes getting reps in. But my question is, who are we going to play next year at QB? Can’t imagine Brehaut starting over Forcier or Craft, simply because he won’t have enough time to absorb the play bok.

by uclabruin34 on Oct 25, 2008 3:47 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Brehaut is coming in early though

I still think he has an outside chance to be the top QB. He is that good.

by trainwreck84 on Oct 25, 2008 3:50 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It may be that Forcier isn't as good as Craft in the coaches' eyes

And, until we have a solid O line, no QB will look good.

So, I think the coaches will decide whether to risk Brehaut after they have decided whether there is ANY QB who can have success behind the o line.

The Thing That Bothers Me...

We just haven’t found a way to step up on the road this year. We’ve had some decent moments at home but on the road we find more and more ways to fall apart in the 2nd half. That’s where the next big step needs to be made.

this game is a big step back. We were close in the 4th and let it get away.
