Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Bearish Thoughts

From today's fishwrap (emphasis added):

"We're not right now currently involved in the Pacific 10 title race, so this is an opportunity to get some valuable experience for our young players," Coach Rick Neuheisel said.

We knew this season was going to be tough. However, the coaching staff is building a foundation with the youth of this team. Kurt Streeter remarks on the how well the young players have performed and even acknowledges the coaching staff.
Let's face it, aside from some surprisingly strong play by a handful of freshmen, some pretty solid defense and some good coaching of an undermanned squad, there isn't much to get giddy about right now.

Yep, we're not too happy right now, but I'm looking forward to what this young receiving corps is gonna do when we get a great OL that gives us a running game and time for whoever is the QB time to throw.

Anchoring the receivers will be Taylor Embree who had another great day.

Star-divide

If red-shirt sophomore Dominique Johnson continues to stay focused defenses will have to remain honest and not simply key on Embree.

On defense sophomore Brian Price will be another force to be reckoned with and feared by opposing QB's.

Yesterday's loss hurts, but there's still a (albeit slim) chance at a bowl game. We have our youth; the cup is still half full. Like Wall Street, we look forward to a bullish future. More game highlights here.
