So what?
This poll means bupkes as far as I can tell. The poll at the beginning of January or February or March is much more important. And there is that little tournament at the end of the year that makes the entire poll business meaningless.
Bah-humbug
Come on, Foxey. It’s kind of fun seeing the media show us this kind of respect pre-season, IMO. Lord knows we don’t get it in football, yet. And it sure beats the pre-Howland years when we’d be ranked 20th or so pre-season and know that we’d be lucky to make the Sweet-16.

Some benefit to it
After all, at the end of the season, we need some reference point to determine by how much Duke underachieved in the Tourney. The #5 ranking = a high probability of Epic Fail! for coach K.
And So It Begins...
Polls, schmolls. They had North Carolina at the top last year, too.
Bring on our team. C’mon DC, bring them on.
I CANNOT WAIT!!!!
Love My Bruins
Good sign
to see three teams that we should play all ranked in the pre-seaon top 10 with Duke right below us (overrated) with Texas and Notre Dame at 8 and 9 respectively. Now lets just get DePaul to sneak into the top 25 at some point during the season and we’ll once again have one of the top OOC schedules around.
Tyler Hansbrough Injured
He won’t be playing the first couple of games. There is no timetable for his return. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3674076&campaign=rss&source=NCBHeadlines
