Just cross your fingers this stupid Buffalo-Akron game doesn’t cut into the start of the UCLA game…

Strange

They are showing this game on tape delay.

I'm at work

and the computers do not allow us to download any programs…including flash player.

Score updates would be amazing.

10-9 Bruins

DC long pass to Dragovic on the break for a layup

by Telemachus on Nov 13, 2008 8:18 PM PST reply actions

Nikola

looked very good on that finish.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 8:18 PM PST reply actions

Wow

Is this a new Drago we’re seeing?

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 8:19 PM PST reply actions

Who's this Dragovich guy?

Haven’t seen this kind of play. I like it.

by mplsbruin on Nov 13, 2008 8:20 PM PST reply actions

DRAGO!!!

Look out!

Bruin-4-Life!!!

by dwdbruin on Nov 13, 2008 8:21 PM PST reply actions

3's

Not falling right now it looks.

They bouncing around or just poor shooting?

by dproduct on Nov 13, 2008 8:25 PM PST reply actions

that guy shot that last 3

from like 27 feet
or as physioc said from chavez ravine lol

by bucknellbruin on Nov 13, 2008 8:33 PM PST reply actions

Phyz

got that one from Hudler I think.

Notes from Pauley

1) Coach is not here
2) The upper deck of the student section is maybe 1/3 full
3) Our shoes are still a metallic royal blue, not black

by Ryan Rosenblatt on Nov 13, 2008 8:34 PM PST reply actions

Yeah

I just realized that was retarded.

To my defense, I’m at work and been up since 7am without coffee?

Actually, that’s not a defense, I will now cower in the corner.

by dproduct on Nov 13, 2008 8:38 PM PST up reply actions

Correct

Someone usually asks if he’s at the game or not so I threw it out there early on

by Ryan Rosenblatt on Nov 13, 2008 8:38 PM PST up reply actions

That's great to hear

Especially after last night’s TO debacle.

by Telemachus on Nov 13, 2008 8:46 PM PST reply actions

We cannot continue to shoot FT's so poorly.

I really don’t get it. Such talented players and we shoot 50% from th eline. They are at 100%

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 8:47 PM PST reply actions

I agree, we absolutely

need to improve in that area. Get the early season jitters out of the way in these games and improve our consistency at the line.

by eubruin on Nov 13, 2008 8:49 PM PST up reply actions

Miami with floater in the lane

Bruins with last shot
JS shoots with 0.9 seconds left, missed29-27 at the half

by Telemachus on Nov 13, 2008 8:49 PM PST reply actions

our offense is really bad tonight

we can’t get anything going and our bigs can’t catch the ball. I’ve seen DC feed various big guys at least 3 or 4 times only to see the ball get kicked OB

by bucknellbruin on Nov 13, 2008 8:49 PM PST reply actions

Hopefully,

Ben works his magic and fixes these problems for the second half.

by dproduct on Nov 13, 2008 8:51 PM PST reply actions

Just got back from a function.

Can someone give me a quick update on the game? Why is it so close?

by BruinFan96 on Nov 13, 2008 8:53 PM PST reply actions

Bad shooting

and this Bramos kid is making some really tough shots.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 8:59 PM PST up reply actions

Thanks for the 411.

Just saw that ridiculous 3 from Bramos.

by BruinFan96 on Nov 13, 2008 9:04 PM PST up reply actions

We are not shooting well. Weak on 3's and FT's .

Rebounding OK.
TO’s not as bad as last night.

JMM in foul trouble.

Highlights — Drago playing well.

Hard to look at that #4 next to our team ...

… I mean, I like our guys – but I think there’s a lot of work to do before we hit Pac10 play. Let’s hope for a big 2nd half.

by mplsbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:01 PM PST reply actions

I agree

We are too young and need some seasoning. We will be there at the end of the season.

Question for the group

Should Keefe be shooting 3’s, now that the line is moved back.

by BruinFan96 on Nov 13, 2008 9:06 PM PST reply actions

Geez, Miami answers with a three

but JS answers with another 15-footer
33-30

by Telemachus on Nov 13, 2008 9:06 PM PST reply actions

Jrue

using that hang time! And 1!

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:07 PM PST reply actions

And, we need some inside scoring.

No great revelation. We all know this — but it really shows.

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:09 PM PST reply actions

Bramos

this kid is everywhere.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:10 PM PST reply actions

Aboya needs to make those inside shots.

DC has to have confidence that when he sends the ball in we will score.

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:11 PM PST reply actions

we look bad

we have no offense other than DC driving and kicking. and when shots arent dropping…..

by bucknellbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:11 PM PST reply actions

Announcers said Bramos wouldn't get 12 in the second half...

… well, he may get 20! We can’t guard him, and we have no defensive presence down low. Too bad we didn’t redshirt Lorenzo!!!

by mplsbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:12 PM PST reply actions

Josh Shipp

tough shot from the baseline.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:14 PM PST reply actions

Js makes a very difficult shot

we are not getting easy or inside shots

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:14 PM PST reply actions

Seniors

making the shots we need as of now.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:15 PM PST reply actions

Zone? We don't do zone.

We need to play Ben Ball D — and we aren’t.

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:17 PM PST up reply actions

James should use that pump fake more often.

That was pretty effective, and at least it’ll keep him from hurrying too much.
BTW, this so far has not been a strong outing for him. He really was beaten badly on that last lay-up.

by mplsbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:17 PM PST reply actions

Right

We’ve always had trouble with that for some reason (see W Virginia, Michigan).

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:19 PM PST up reply actions

JK not looking all that good

JMM 3 fouls and on the bench
Kids not playing much
JH having D problems.

We are a team in need of seasoning. We will be there, later.

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:19 PM PST reply actions

I'm VERY disappointed

that we’re not mixing up the D.
You gotta go ZONE sometimes
You gotta pick them up in a full court press sometimes
You gotta throw the opponents off and use our superior athleticism.
POOR coaching game. VERY poor.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:19 PM PST reply actions

No

Howland doesn’t do zone. We have very young players.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:20 PM PST up reply actions

no zone. good offensive teams destroy zones. plus miami can SHOOT

by bucknellbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:21 PM PST up reply actions

look... 3 final fours gives Howland plenty of GRACE.

I’m just sayin, I don’t like small schools even THINKING they can run with us.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:23 PM PST reply actions

We win with D and our D isn't stopping them

They are shooting 56% from the field and 3’s.

Our young guys will be there at the end of the year.

Interesting lineup

Collison
Lee
Roll
Dragovic
Aboya

by SuperBruinMan on Nov 13, 2008 9:26 PM PST reply actions

Lee shoulda put that back IN THE AIR.

do not come back down to the floor when you’re by yourself. THAT’s coaching.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:28 PM PST reply actions

Gee

I guess you have your proof right there then.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:29 PM PST up reply actions

We should keep in

mind that we typically wear the other team down. I think an analysis of the last 8 min’s of each game would be nice. I have a feeling we outscore our opponents by quite a large margin…

by eubruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:30 PM PST reply actions

that call was a joke

LEe played perfect D and Bramos got bailed out

by bucknellbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:31 PM PST reply actions

PS: Aaron Afflalo is playing great tonight for Detroit. He hit a 3, and then just made a great “and one” layup. He is really playing well.

Nice D

from the freshman Jrue!

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:35 PM PST reply actions

149 - 2 did u hear that Pauley Record?

I don’t like that we don’t even TRY to have that kind of home domination.
Again, just my own rusing. I find that the younger generation is simply
pleased with WINS. I’m way more into HOME DOMINATION. Make the country DREAD comming to PAULEY.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:35 PM PST reply actions

I am getting nervous

The longer they hang around, the more confident they will get.

by BruinFan96 on Nov 13, 2008 9:43 PM PST reply actions

We lost 4 great players last year

Not only are we young, we are asking people to step in who have never played much before.

Roll coming from injuries.

We are just fine, for this time of the year.

They start 4 seniors.

This is the beginning of the path not the end.

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:49 PM PST up reply actions

Keefe!!! Steps up big time.

We were lucky cause Darren had nothing in the lane.

by mplsbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:45 PM PST reply actions

Our offense is starting to concern me ...

… not much movement, not much passing. It’s mainly Darren and Josh dribbling around looking for an opening to take it to the hoop. We’ve been bailed by some amazing shots.

by mplsbruin on Nov 13, 2008 9:48 PM PST reply actions

Okay

just saw that drive by Hayes on the replay. I think someone needs to tell Aboya its okay to start being a little bit aggressive. Maybe even foul someone.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 9:48 PM PST reply actions

I was thinking the same thing

He’s trying so hard to avoid fouls he’s letting things get past him

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 9:49 PM PST up reply actions

Ben is HUMAN. Maybe he's got to adjust his game to the ATHLETES we have.

Ben doesn’t recruit no-names anymore. We got Stallions, not mules.
We need STALLION play on defense.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:49 PM PST reply actions

Freshmen and people who've not played much before

Chill out.

These games are learning experiences. Nice to win them. But I’d rather see the kids get time, now.

As I keep telling you. They have 4 seniors

Howland is not on HIS game.

HOWLAND is in charge of mindset, intensity, play calling.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:56 PM PST up reply actions

Do you know anything about this team?

Experience level?

Do you know how much Roll, Drago, and Keefe played last year.

Please, stop your whining. It’s unbecoming.

all those dudes were AWESOME high school players.

they’re all very, very talented. Way more talented than the Miami crew.

by BruinAlum on Nov 13, 2008 9:58 PM PST up reply actions

Way less experienced too

Howland has only been coaching them for a few weeks

by SuperBruinMan on Nov 13, 2008 9:59 PM PST up reply actions

weird switch put James on Hayes !!!

I think James’ length really hurt Hayes shot.

A win is a win

Hopefully they learn from this.

by SuperBruinMan on Nov 13, 2008 10:01 PM PST reply actions

Agree!

Young guys understand they have to play D, now they just have to get used to doing it.

No inside game at all. We need to fix that.

Good game from Drago and Roll.

Stuff to build on.

sjh

by Class of 66 on Nov 13, 2008 10:02 PM PST up reply actions

Agreed

Win is a win. There will ALWAYS be bumps in the road and it WAS a good learning experience.

by bruin8uclap on Nov 13, 2008 10:02 PM PST up reply actions

I just wanted a win...

…but looking at the stats, the inside game has me nervous. I couldn’t watch unfortunately but does anyone have any additional insight to assure me that we’re going to eventually be ok inside? I have the utmost faith in Howland so I’m sure we’ll be ok, but can Keefe,Aboya,Morgan,Gordon do what they need to do to get this team far in the tournament? I’ll hold my judgement until the season progresses and I get to actually watch them play. I can’t wait.
