That’s what Dohn is hinting it at as well:

UCLA could be adding a much-needed junior college offensive tackle for next season, but the Bruins will not know for at least six months whether College of the Canyons’ Shawn Johnson is qualified.

Johnson said he wants to go to UCLA. He also has offers from Iowa State, Florida International and Idaho State. However, Johnson said he must complete a heavy course load to be eligible for any Division I school next season.

“I have to finish some more schoolwork first,” said Johnson, a Thousand Oaks High product. “I have to take care of all my classes first, and that should be sometime in the spring.”

UCLA will continue to recruit as if it still needs to land a junior college offensive tackle, sources said, because Johnson’s situation will not be clear until the summer.

So we will have to keep an eye on it. But right now can’t really count him as a done deal.
