Men's Basketball Away Games Tickets
Quick question regarding tickets for away games. Does anyone know the procedure on how to get them?
Since we are up in the Bay Area, we want to go to the Stanford game. I called the Stanford ticket office, and they're not releasing those tickets until late December for the Pac-10 season, but only for one of the upper level sections.
Ideally I want to be sitting near the UCLA section. Who do I contact? How do I buy them? I need two tickets. Is anyone a member of Bay Area Bruins and would they know?
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

CTO
I’d try calling the CTO (http://www.tickets.ucla.edu/ ). If they can’t sell you the tickets they can at least point you in the right direction.

Well I called CTO
and they didn’t have any information other than “we don’t sell tickets for away games.”
If you go to uclabruins.com, it links you up with ticketmaster. I’ll check back when we get closer to the Pac-10 Season.

Stub Hubb or Craigs List
Try those. You can get tix but it will be expensive.

best method for @ Stanford
My experiences with trying to get UCLA @ Stanford tickets in the past went nowhere through ‘official’ channels (Stanford, last season at least, only sold UCLA tics as a mini-pack, and CTO does not sell basketball away tickets). Craigslist, in the weeks leading up to the game is likely your best bet.

are they even for sale yet?
IIRC, last year UCLA didn’t make Pac10 tickets available for single game purchases until December time.

If it's anything like away game football tickets...
I’ve had the best luck getting tickets via various online ticket brokers. For the Cal v UCLA game this year we paid under face value by buying online through a broker. The previous year we hammered the Ticketmaster website for UCLA V Cal basketball tickets and came away with a chunk of nosebleed seats (like 2nd to last row, in the corner). I’d be interested to hear if anyone has had luck with CTO in the past – do they even sell tickets to alumni, or is it students-only?
With Montgomery at Cal it’s going to be tougher to get tickets through alternative sources this year, I imagine. On the other hand, it might be a bit easier to get them against Stanford with them expected to have a down year.

I'm staff at the alleged university.
I’m hooooooping I can get them a bit faster than everyone else. Of course, basketball and football tickets are another world at every school compared to the other sports.
Stanford already said the only seats that will be available through them will be Upper Level 6. It’s behind one of the baskets, up at the very top of Maples (but Maples is pretty small in the first place.)

Last year....
we made the trip up to Cal and Stanford. Unfortunately CTO doesn’t sell tickets to away games. We bought the tickets from the respective schools. This year we are making the trip up to Cal. They released their tickets a few weeks ago. Just go on the Cal website and see if there are any remaining. As for Stanford, last year it said they were sold out, but we kept checking back on their website and finally found some availale

It's true
Just call the prospective opposing teams ticket offices to see when tickets go on sale for the UCLA game. It was really easy to get tickets for the Cal game if you just made sure to be online the day tickets went on sale. Stanford was pretty adamant about no general admission tickets being sold at all for that game but I basically just checked their website every day and then about a week or so before the game some more tickets were magically released. There was also no official UCLA section or anything like that but a majority of the people in GA were Bruin fans and you would most likely get plopped up top behind the basket. As someone else said Maples is really small and there really isn’t a bad view in the place. Unless of course the person you’re sitting next to falls asleep for the entire game ; )

Cal is offering tickets for the UCLA game through their own site. They only have the very upper level, mostly in the corners and behind the baskets. From what I remember, the UCLA section will be 13 or 14 (I could be wrong, however). And last I checked, Stanford was not selling individual game tickets for any Pac-10 games, though they could change that policy later on in the year.
slow down, look up
