#1 UNC Destroys #8 Notre Dame
So UNC with ALL of their players back from last year's final four team just destroyed #8 Notre Dame in the final of the Maui Invitational. Unless some sort of extreme circumstances arise, I don't see ANY team being able to hang with them all season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop a random game in conference to break up the perfect season, but I'd be GREATLY surprised if any team in the country can match up against them when it counts. It just seems unfair this season.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

I don't really care about UNC
but I’ll take a good beatdown of Notre Dame anytime. Digger really IS a wimp.
But good luck to the Notre Dame football Irish on Saturday.

Reminds me of UNLV's 1992 team....
which was just as dominant and undefeated when they lost in the semifinals to Puk

If this were
a Notre Dame team that played defense, I’d be worried, but UNC fries any team that tries to run with them without defending, and Notre Dame did just that. If this were a good Big East team that played defense, I’d be much more shocked. Besides, UNC has the exact same team as last year, meaning they have the upper hand in these early games where other teams are trying to find themselves, but will run into trouble against an ACC coach that played them 2 or 3 times last year and knows what to do.
This isn’t the Florida team that returned all 5 starters because that Florida team was indestructible in crunch time. UNC has still not been able to throw down in March.

anyone watch the game?
Notre Dame’s Kyle McAlarney went ballistic from deep in the last few minutes. Best shooting performance I’ve ever seen….we’ll have to lock him up come February.

10 3s
That’s an insane number, and the guy was going literally berserk. Had it not been for him, this game would have been a much bigger blowout than it ended up being.

I've said it before
and I’ll say it again: Championships are won on (NBA) Declaration day, and not necessarily on Signing Day.
UNC (likely) won theirs when their All-American center (and the rest of his teammates) decided to return for a shot at a championship, whereas our All-American center (and 2 of his teammates) decided to pursue their NBA dreams early.
I firmly believe that Ben Howland is the best coach in America and will eventually bring us #12, but one of these years, Declaration day will need to be a day that Bruin fans celebrate, and not lament.

Great point
I know that “What if’s” don’t count, but you can see how different our vision of this season would be had KL, LRMAM, and RW stayed.
And imagine if DC had joined them? Oooph.
